I finally got my note 2 and it's setup through straight talk AT&T.. What do you feel is the best apn settings for att on st?

Depending if ST uses the same APN's, as the regular network! You can always set up the ones I listed, and c how they turn out for you.. :D
Let me know what you kind of signal you get from them.
But I'm usually on#4 pending on my speed and area.

Do you mean you can't add a APN? I've heard they come with a lot of APN already installed?
Try switching it then turning off/on airplane mode!

So your saying that your rat was unlocked. Cause that's the only way you can change the network mode! I see your using the international version! So that's why it was working b4. If it was working b4, then something recent stopped it!!

I'm not able to add apns to try out the suggested apns when throttled. Can someone please help? How can I fix this? Thanks to all who reply.

#1 what signal is the phone staying on?
#2 ARE ya sure your in a LTE area!! :what:
#3 did ya try someone else's SIM to seed if there's pulls in LTE??
Another thing to check is the status of the phone. Because I was on a Rom the just showed 4g, but I was connected to LTE!!
#4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Did you try a complete fresh stock Odin install? And wipe everything off the phone like it just came out the store:eek:. If it's still giving you problems. And if that don't help then I would return it for warranty exchange, if you got it from a retail store.

Ok I tried it on my Skyrocket running 4.2.2, and it didn't let me change it either! Not sure why it's like that on those Rom's?? I'm not running them on my GN2. But ok do some research and seed if I can come up with an answer ok. Because I noticed someone else was having the same problem as you!! :)

Ok you'll have to find your phone stock firmware!! Then after you find that file, get Odin if you don't have it already. Which you should! Anyway after that just flash your phone with a fully stock firmware. As far as rooting goes, you can find a complete stock that already root b4 you flash it!!
You can try here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/
Or find a stock one from here!! Try Scott's Rom's. Think he has a few stock ones he'd released!!

What did you do b4 this happen?? I'm curious..:confused:
Was it a 4.2.2 Rom you flashed? Let me know...

This is a guide for changing your apn for throttling issues or trying to get a better signal.

Here's a list of the ATT APN list that I put together. I have tested these some work with everything DATA,LTE,MMS,VOICE, ETC. And some of them were request from other members here. So I just posted what was asked for into one location. If they work for you keep them if not, just delete and keep the ones you'll b using. NEVER DELETE THE STOCK APN JUST IN CASE!
If I run across any others I sure to add them here.
If anyone has any that I missed let me know and I'll add them to the list...:)

#1.Go into setting, then more setting, mobile networks, then pick Access point Names.
#2. In order to enter a new APN, hit the left menu key. Pick New APN, then enter your APN setting as listed below. After that hit Menu again then save! Then you can select that Apn, by hitting the dot next to the new apn
Everyone's results will vary, pending on location...

    Thanks to @ShrekOpher
Found a new APN for VOLTE on AT&T. Works great on the Note 4.

    Name: AT&T Nextgenphone
    APN: nxtgenphone
    Proxy/Port/Username/Password/Server: Not set
    MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
    MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
    MMS port: 80
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 410
    Authentication type: Not set
    APN type: default,admin,mms,supl,hipri,internet
    APN protocol: IPv4
    APN roaming protocol: IPv4
    APN enable/disable: APN enabled
    Bearer: Unspecified
    MVNO type: none
    MVNO value: Not set

Default Galaxy Note2 Apn setting! This is what comes stock on the phone!
    Name: ATT PHONE
    APN: phone
    Proxy: ~Not set~
    Port: ~Not set~
    Username: ~Not set~
    Password: ~Not set~
    Server: ~Not set~
    MMSC:http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
    MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
    MMS Port: 80
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 410
    Authentication type:
    APN type: default,mms,supl

    Name: AT&T LTE
    APN: pta
    Proxy: ~Not set~
    Port: 80
    Username: ~Not set~
    Password: ~Not set~
    Server: ~Not set~
    MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
    MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
    MMS Port: 80
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 410
    Authentication type:
    APN type: default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet

Tried this one also and everything works fine but it seems like it stays on H and H+ more often.
    Name: AT&T TEST 1
    APN: wap.cingular
    Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
    Port: 80
    Username: ~Not set~
    Password: ~Not set~
    Server: ~Not set~
    MMSC: ~Not set~
    MMS Proxy: ~Not set~
    MMS Port: ~Not set~
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 410
    Authentication type:
    APN type: default,supl,agps,fota,dun

Now this one connects to the network but it defaults back to the stock apn after a few minutes. Not sure if its just my phone or not so that's why I posted it anyway. Because someone had asked for it..
    Name: AT&T TEST 2
    APN: broadband
    Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
    Port: 80
    Username: ~Not set~
    Password: ~Not set~

    MMS Proxy: ~Not set~
    MMS Port: ~Not set~
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 410
    Authentication type: ~Not set~
    APN type: tether

Same thing with this one as to Test 2. Connects but then defaults back to stock!
    Name: AT&T TEST 3 MM
    APN: wap.cingular
    Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
    Port: 80
    Username: Not set
    Password: Not set

    MMS Port: 80
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 410
    Authentication type: ~Not set~
    APN type: mms,supl

Now this APN works just like the stock but may speed up your data, if your begin throttled from using to much DATA!
    Name: AT&T TEST 4 HSDPA
    APN: phone
    Proxy: ~Not set~
    Port: ~Not set~
    Username: ~Not set~
    Password: ~Not set~
    Server: ~Not set~
    MMSC: ~Not set~
    MMS Proxy: ~Not set~
    MMS Port: ~Not set~
    MCC: 310
    MNC: 410
    Authentication type: ~Not set~
    APN type: default,supl,agps,fota,dun

NO problems with this one either. Tested everything and all works great! Maybe a little faster pending on what area your in!
    Name: AT&T TEST 5
    APN: PTA

I'm in the USA using Cricket Wireless which runs on the AT&T network.

yeah the MNC for cricket is probably 150. It uses AT&T signal, but its a "separate network".
