edit: Also, when my Zune said "Step 2 of 10: Downloading Update..." it got stuck at 0%. I disconnected the PPTP VPN and it finished off OK.

4. Switch to your carrier settings on the phone

5. Manually search for an update within Zune

Important step 6.:
After a few seconds (about 10-15 seconds for me) disable data transfer on the already opened settings tab on your phone

--> The update shows up!


If it doesn't work (cognizable by the fact that you get a time out error) retry steps 5 and 6 and vary the time until you manually disable data transfer! (step 6)

can't get it on mine... if I wait too long it shows that I have the last update (7008) or if I switch datta off after ~15 seconds it shows that error in zune...

How can you guys count to 15? :eek:
When I get to 5 I already get the "your phone is up to date" message.

hm I can't get it to work.. regardless of when I turn my data connection off, Zune always ends up aying that it encountered problems connecting to the update service.. any ideas would be greatly appreciated ;-)

Meh, now that I bothered to see the .pbk connection more carefully, I cannot establish a connection to PPTP Hungary ("Error 678: Remote computer does not answer.")

Am I missing something, why would that connection be essential in the first place? Another thing, what's with the 10-15sec wait in Zune? I get "Your phone is up to date (7008)" message in less than 5 seconds if I try to check for updates manually.

edit: I allow everything the Remote Access Phone asks me to through my firewall, so that's ruled out.

Dude, you are just pure WIN, how did you come up with this? It worked!

I had to try like 10 times , when i waited for 40 seconds, it worked! I cant thank you enough, the force is strong with this one.

Can't believe I was ever going to say this but.. it finally worked !

I first searched for updates in Zune with data connection turned completely OFF in phone. I counted the time in seconds with a timer and got exactly 34 seconds before the Zune error message showed up. Next, I searched for updates again, this time with data connection ON, and at exactly 33 seconds, I turned data connection off in the phone settings. A few seconds later, Zune told me that NoDo was available :D

Unfuckingbelievable.

Keep WiFi off during this procedure.
If it took only 5 seconds before the "your phone is up to date", then I guess you should disconnect the Mobile Network (3G) in the 4th second.

    So guys I did telephone H3G branded; unbrandized with rom I8700DBTJK1 ... SIM H3G Italy received pre-node update here ... I tell you how I did it

    -PPTP-connected to EUROIP Hungary
    -Telephone access and no-off "as the guide
    -Zune-opened and updated
    -Located in the menu updates zune phone
    -Connect your phone starts searching for the update after about 4 seconds off the data network

    I advise not to go into airplane mode to disable the data network but ... if you turn off the data network before trying the update will appear error zune

    in this way, I called the update was released in March of this update when you are upgrading your phone just updated post a screenshot

    Sorry for my English I hope it was clear :D
