i followed the instructions and edited the build.prop file. i have DSPManager, Dolby mobile and Xperia Pureness installed now but they dont do anything. i have music on and turning those settings on and off to see if there is a difference and getting nothing. music doesnt sound any better than before either.

I'm on the latest AOKP. and using doubletwist as my music player right now. am i supposed to use a specific player? any ideas?

Same here, dsp isn't doing anything to the sound. Only thing this did was ruin my in call audio, people can't hear me :/

Cant tell a difference.

Nothing happens when opening the apps included. The beats audio is simply to show or no show the beats audio icon.

one more new edition sorry but this time it's because of new team work and because this MOD has been restarted from scratch!​

Thank u very much for continuing to support this device. Liked the first version and can't wait to try the new one. One thing, is this still only for CM10, AOKP, etc....?

Edit: Sorry but got one more question. I see in the flashable zip it has DSP Manager included but in the op it is suggested to rename it so its disabled. Is this still required?

Well, it doesn't seem like its working for me. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. After flashing the zip I had the Acid Sound Mod app, DSP Manager and the Sony Walkman installed and I checked to see if the build prop had been edited and it had. I didn't have any additional options under the sounds option in the settings menu and I don't see anything for Beats Audio or anything(don't know if I should or not). I played a song with the Sony Walkman and turned the EQ on and there was no change. I then renamed DSP Manager to disable it, rebooted and tried again and there is still no difference?

I wouldn't go that far. Hopefully it gets sorted out cause I would love to have something like this. I use something similar to this on my HTC One XL and the sound is incredible.

I think I got it working. I had to not only get rid of DSP Manager but also the Music FX or whatever its called. I no longer have the equalizer option in the Sony Walkman but the sound is really good.

Yes sorry I made a mistake I forgot to remove soundfx.apk from system/app

So to all try removing it and reboot all should be done after that

Coming from the Galaxy S I, it seems like the sound quality is lacking on the S III. So I tried this, hoping for the very best. Nothing happened, good or bad.:(

For the record I am on the latest stock ROM, rooted. After installation, I did have the Acid app, DSP app, and Walkman app. All my testing was on headphones, which for me is the only way I really care about the sound quality. Acid was enabled by default. Tried switching on and off to hear a difference - nothing. Same in DSP, no settings made any difference - even when set to extremes. Tried listening through Walkman app also, just in case - still no difference.

Ultimately, I hope this can be made to work, but for now I have restored by backup.

    New decision by our team


    Ok we discussed with other member from Team AC!D

    We understand that this v4.0 would have needed more test fir sags version

    We admit that our v4.0 is a bit complicated to install on some ROM and cause sometimes bootloop

    We noticed too that we have too many EQ app widget etc and they can't work properly side by side

    We found what was causing bootloop on some SGS ROM
    Same for some ICS devices

    And finally we know how to fix all fc present in v4.0

    So next version will incorporate theses changes (thats not a changelog just an overview of change that will be done for better stability):

    - Fix bootloop on some ICS devices caused by some line in add.buildprop and infinity sh

    - Fix bootloop on some sgs devices caused by two init.d script (useless if add.buildprop worked)

    - Fix bootloop on some AOKP CM10 Rom Caused by some specific libs

    - Fix all FC issue caused by DSP previously installed on some ROM (will be removed by default) and several EQ app (next version will have only noozxoid EQ)

    - We will probably make an AROMA version with clear instruction and even some tips that you can read while aroma installation. It will help people to undersand how to install correctly this MOD without any risk and prevent from any unsuccessful boot (bootloop) or unwanted fc

    So it will be firstly an update with much more stability, better instruction and much more compatibility with all devices on each ROM

    Secondly some awesome news features and some important changes will be done for a really better sound experience

    To be clear its going to be an important and major release!

    We won't forget to update all OP to make them clearer And same for our website

    Each MOD will be heavily tested before any new release by now!

    We are sorry for people who got bootloop issue and for theses didn't understood how to use correctly this MOD

    Please be comprehensive and let our team give the proof to everyone that our MOD is absolutely not making a placebo effect and that we are making our best to enhance audio quality of each Android Smartphone

    Now working awesomely on CM9-10 and AOKP
    Latest Walkman Addon with real Walkman V style (fading music and playlist now works on CM and AOKP, thanks to Rizal Lovins and ThilinaC)
    Works amazingly with N7Player, PowerAmp, Player Pro
    New tweaks for Hi-fi stereo or other external audio output (use Dolby EQ)
    New drivers, updated audio_effect.conf
    A Lot More as usual ;)

    Thanks to the whole AC!D team for their amazing work! This mod is getting always more amazing with now more than 20 supported devices!
