I had to go back to stock again to get LTE working, but so far we are solid.

LTE has survived a reboot, dropping to 3G and LTE coming back multiple times.

Signal strength data is incorrect...

Does this mean you flashed stock, got LTE working, and then were able to re-flash CM and keep LTE? My LTE has not been working for a bit with the CM10.1 nightlies, and I would love to fix it if possible.

Thx,
zen

You can't use the nightlies for LTE right now, the RIL fix hasn't been merged yet. Scott posted a custom build that has LTE working properly. I hope the RIL fix is in the next nightly.

To get LTE working, flash a TouchWiz ROM, update profile and PRL (PRL is optional, but the recent update has updates to make connecting to SMR spectrum enabled once your local tower has it and Next shuts down)
Wipe system and factory reset
Flash CM10.1 custom build
Flash GApps
Factory reset again
Boot into CM and setup again

You might be able to backup and restore if you dirty flash, but no guarantees...

Do you or anyone else have a link to this custom build?

I have a question. I'm currently running the 27th nightly and have working lte. Yesterday I did flash back to touchwiz and update my prl yesterday. When I update to a newer nightly that has the ril changes will I be able to take advantage of the netel spectrum or will I have to flash back to stock again?

Signal strength is fine for me, just doesn't show signal

Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2

We must have differing definitions of signal strength, when I go into the status on my phone LTE reports 0, EVDO/eHPRD reports invalid data. The API that reads the signal is screwy. Once that is fixed the indicator in the status bar will be fixed.

---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:12 AM ----------

it's the custom build Scott posted yesterday. The actual patch has not been merged yet, I hope it will be in the next nightly.

I notice that the mdm_hsic_pm0 kernel wakelock is back with a vengence, not letting my phone sleep and eating battery like mad.

This kernel wakelock is much better on the 6/8 nightly

Would be cool if they could read the actual LTE serving cell identities with CM. Would love to run CM but I have to have my cell data screens especially in the middle of the LTE rollout.

I flashed the 6/8 nightly and am maintaining LTE like Scott's build. Hopefully we'll see the EVDO/eHPRD/LTE signal strengths fixed soon

On the contrary my signal is horrible my 3g and 4g are highly unreliable. I was on 5.25 and waiting for 6.8 and even though I get 4g my data is just not there when I need it. Anyone else experiencing this?

Anyone flash 6-9 yet?
I have 3g signal bars... How about 4g?

Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app

flashed, comments said that gps should be fixed but it's still broken for me. Battery life seems fine. No lte but they are just turning it on here so the signal may be flaky. Anyone else have working gps, lte, or mhl out?

My GPS works in GPS status and in Google maps.
I also have 4g and 3g connection but the 4g signal bars are not working.

I cannot test mhl out now but can check it this afternoon when i get home

Same. Works just as well as Scott's custom build.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Thank you sbrissen for developing for this awesome device and all of our donators who made it possible! None of this would have happened without you guys :)

You will lose S Pen and other Touchwiz functionality if you flash this but here is how you can get some of that functionality back!
    1. S Pen works (try out the app Papyrus as a replacement to S Note, Papyrus does utilize the S Pen button as well).
    2. Air View works (Go to settings, Language & input, check "Show icon when using stylus".
    3. The S Pen button works (Go to settings, Language & input, Stylus gestures, those all use the s pen button).
    4. Pop up browser = OverSkreen from the Google Play Store.
    5. I use the 4.2 Camera on Touchwiz anyway. There are plenty of good camera apps in the market if you want more features.
    6. Multiwindow. There is no alternative, dont ask.
And here's some alternatives to Touchwiz apps (PM me if you want me to add something!)
    Code:

If you want to downgrade back to a 4.1.x ROM, flash the restore-sdcard-after-downgrade.zip attached below AFTER flashing back to 4.1.x ROM. Your storage situation will be how it was pre-CM10.1 flash. Thanks to madmack for the file.

Screenshot thing is a known issue.

Also, guys I'm glad your all crazy about the CM10.2 thing but this is still the 10.1 thread. So can we please keep it on topic?

I'll start a cm10.2 thread shortly with builds. the screenshot issue is because of the "legacy" mali gpu blobs. until we get blobs that work properly with 4.3 there will be graphic issues
