[Q] Anyone that has done a teardown/housing replacement?
I bought my silver HTC One used, and the aluminum was pretty beat up, and so is the material (plastic?) around the edges. But it was a good deal and I was nowhere near my upgrade with my carrier, so couldn't pass it up. The screen and black trim around the screen are perfect. I've found myself looking at replacement housings, preferably the black.
I've seen the teardowns posted on ifixit and the low repairability scores, but they keep saying it's impossible to pull apart without damaging the housing. My question is: if the housing is all that will definitely get messed up from taking it apart, it doesn't matter since that's what I'm replacing, right?
Has anyone pulled their phone apart, and if so, how hard was it to get to the point where you have the back housing and speaker grills pulled off?
