read the damn OP people

For those of you complaining about the button lights, learn to read the OP completely and thoroughly. Because you don't follow what many feel to be proper forum etiquette you litter a development thread with repetitive questions. So come on now, read the the OP and let us know what you find.

For me it doesn't work...flashing Paolo's kernel, makes the phone incapable of mounting USB storage... :(

Already tried a few times and nothing...

Try Franco's kernel...LINK

I respect all the work done, but maybe instead of re-"building" it every time a new version of the firmware comes out , maybe you should either try fixing existing bugs or don't release versions with hardly any changes. I know you are not a hardcore dev and i dont even come close to you let alone people like mik or andy, i respect this but you could even ask them for help. I would help if i could.

Some news from Italy:

i had to give my O1 to my sister and i bought a Huawei Ideos X5 pro (u8800pro), the problem is that, restoring the stock v20g firmware (stock gb 2.3.3) i bricked my O1 xD

i have flashed on it many many roms, probably at least 100 times, and now it is bricked.
now it is in a lg's service centre, i am waiting for a new O1 because my old one is gone.

but the most important news is that i decided to keep developing this rom, but only when i will have more free time and when there will be other updates for the Optimus Net.

Hope you get your new p500 soon for your sister! I wish i could help; my friend is giving me programming lessons, i'm currently tinkering with stuff, finding out how bit work. I'd love to program fully one day, it seems you have already taken your fist step.. The project has been great from the start, if you ever need help fixing bugs, don't restrain from asking someone like andy or mik_os. :D

i haven't any programming skills......and i have not built this rom from sources.

it is only a stockrom (from P690) and in order to make it working i have replaced some hw libraries, changed some xml configs, added some tweaks.

actually i am learning how to really develop a rom, in fact i started building gingerbread 2.3.7 for huawei ideos x5 pro (on which i have just flashed CM7, it is fantastic :D)

Using this rom for around 2 weeks now, quite pleased with it.

However, I can't play youtube.

Error message is:
Connection failed
Problem reading from server

Can anyone help?

somewhy my phone started to doesnt show real battery percantage. Also it disconected from wifi, and cant conect anymore. Any solution for this? :confused:

edit: instaled aga rom, batery problem solved, wifi not.

So after persistantly trying to install this rom i finally succeeded. And to what avail? Now, every time I reboot I lose all accounts and my contacts menu won't even open. Switching off to Oxygen.

    Finally the port is done! :D

    This rom is a porting of android 2.3.4 from optimus net, it is fully working except some bugs (see the end of the post).
    First of all, thanks to all people who carried on this port (especially to gianvolpe and hecatae).

    BlackBird 2.3.4 v1.1 STABLE:
    • based on android 2.3.4 v10C from optimus net
    • root + superuser (updated to the last version)
    • busybox
    • bash
    • init.d support
    • data/app support
    • hw acc. on
    • jit on
    • vm heapisze 48m
    • stagefright player enabled
    • wifi scan interval = 180
    • kernel rome alpha3 cfs vsyncoff by zacks
    • kernel tweaks by zacks
    • noled script (buttons' leds disabled)
    • battery tweak (build.prop)
    • sd cache read ---> 2048
    • build.prop hacks
    • zipaligned
    • /system/app and system/framework odexed
    • battery tweak (init.d)
    • removed unuseful apps and ringtones
    • added oi file manager, anreboot, link2sd

    ROM's known bugs:
    camcorder's zoom doesn't work
    no sim contacts recognised
    no autofocus
    strange crashes when you charge the phone and it is turned off (remove the battery to solve)
    tethering works only with 3rd party apps

    HOW TO INSTALL:
    You need latest gingerbread baseband (v20g).
    Reboot in recovery
    Partition SD card
    wipe cache,data and dalvik + format system.
    Finally flash the zip and reboot the phone.


    Now the ROM has been succesfully flashed!


    If you notice lags and you think that the rom is not fast enough, please flash paolo's v6 touchfix kernel.

    Modifications:

    - camera app fully replaced to p500 stock one (camera focus and effects are now fully working when taking photos or using camcorder too)
    - using standard sh instead of bash (bash had very heavy size)
    - removed nano
    - added some missing stock lg features (live wallpapers, widgets, memo app, p500 version of thinkfree office)
    - added some apps to /data that I use, and I've missed from any rom I've ever used, like: stopwatch, rings extended, link2sd, nofrills classic.
    - updateable google apps with heavy size moved to /data (gmail, maps with street view, google play services, youtube)

    Rom comes with franco.kernel #4, like in BlackBird v.1.2 beta 1, but I recommend to use an older franco.kernel from this dropbox link:

    Later if v10d version boots without any error on screen, I may try to add PaoloM70's V6-touch3 kernel, cause I had better battery life with that one in stock p500 v20g rom.

    maybe i will make another rom based on optimus net official firmware....but i must wait until the next week when i will get my new pc.
