if you got a JVU to work, after that flash an i9000 speedmod kernel or semaphore GB kernel, do not reboot, just enter CWM and do the full wipes, and mount USB storage to copy CM 9 files and Gapps from your PC to external SD card and flash using CWM than reboot.

I've been following the example you gave me of someone else who had a similar problem, and installed the Patched JVU Odin files listed in his links. I have partitioned my 8GB MicroSD with Fat32 for 1st partition and EXT3 (I think because I messed around here and now partition has vanished from card, and now windows says card is only 5.7GB??). I am able to boot up into JVU GingerBread and everything works. But I really want to be able to get back to my JellyBean OS, not all my apps work with GB, Also I cant flash any ZIPs from the included CWM...
I tried using V16 of Speed Mod Kernel flashed thru Odin without rebooting, but "mount USB storage" won't bring up sd card, and when I try to flash a zip it shows me all the files from my corrupted internal. I'm guessing the kernel included in the Patched JVU Odin package has been modified to detect partition changes? Thats what I understand from the authors page, but its hard to fully understand as the author is Spanish and google translate don't work well.
What I want to know is if there is a way to modify any kernel so that I can access my new partition layout, without being to complicated as I;m not a dev? I've copied the "vold.fstab" used in the Patched JVU Odin package and put it into CM10 Stable ROM zip for when I flash new ROM. Am I right doing this?
I really appreciate the help you have given me to help bring my beloved SGS back to life
