My new Feiteng H5W smartphone seems to have malware out of the box.
I contacted the reseller for a solution but all I heard from them was “Thanks for your contact Geekbuying. we do not have new firmware now without malware Wish you good luck & have a nice day”.
The malware software that was found by the antimalware apps (tried a few) was:
-OperaService
-Cooee Launcher S4 (Android:SMSAgent-AHY [Trj])
Being both of them out-of-the-box apps, it seems they cannot be removed.
Is there any way to replace the device’s factory software by a clean install of Android? If so, could you please let me know where can I find the instructions to do it?
