Right, that's what I don't quite understand. What does "extract contacts.apk from the rom into system/app" refer to? I tried 'installing' the Contacts.apk that was in system/app, guess that's not it

Think I've figured it out. Extracting the contacts.apk from the original bundled Invert Apps rom file, into system/app.

Still though, I can't swipe in the keyboard, even though it's enabled. The swypes show up but they just don't do anything, and no words appear.

Ok, sorry, my turn. Not sure if I did this right, my contacts still force close. I went to system/app using rom toolbox pro, deleted contacts apk. Extracted aroma gapps, copied contacts to system/app, long press & clicked permission, & set to what it should be, then rebooted wiped cache & dalvik & fixed p again. Still fc. Tia

Just tried that. deleted the old LatinIMEDictionaryPack and replaced with this one, fixed permissions to rwrr and rebooted. Didn't work, but I tried doing the same for Contacts and that fixed itself, so....?

Hello

No it is not .I have that issue also on my s2.
Dont install the Contacts and messaging during the aroma instalation.
If you have a so called dark switch in your custom rom it will make contacts and messaging dark for you.

I installed rom after fullwipe and then these gapps .
One time i tryed with the latinime.apk and it did not work.
I tryed the second time also with fullwipe an fresh rom install without the latinime.apk an it did also not work.

I did not test contacts and messaging if they fc.

Ya, I meant that maybe the inverted system apps only works for the S3 and not for the S2. Otherwise I dont get why some ppl run it fine and some other doesn't.

Additionally, I really dislike themes as I'm in love with the AOSP look. Maybe I should learn to do a bit of theme-ing myself...

I started an experiment with my old htc hd2 because i wanted to know if these gapps are only working for an Galaxy S3.

I could not understand why the contact app and messaging app fc from this package on my sgs2 and hd2

( i put only the two apk in system ,app and set the permission. I did not flash the whole .zip) .

After a while i rememberd me of an similar problem with these apps in an older aroma inverted gapp installation for Android 4.2.x.
In that aroma installation i was able to choose if i want inverted contakts from AOKP or CM. The AOKP one causes a big problem. There was after the flash no phone app in the app drawer. But the contact app was present and worked as inverted.
I extracted with 7zip the two apk from the CM folders(contact , messaging) from that old package an put them like the others from this package here in system ,app and set the permission with reboot.

Now they work

Google currents flickers while viewing topics, but goes away once reading the article. Non-inverted works normally. Cm nightly 4/16 k7
