Been enjoying ICS Slim for months, have had issues with battery and GPS, but they seem solvable if I would put the time in and remember which fixes to do after updating. (One odd quick is you have to fix the DPI/resolution after each update, it defaults to G-Nex resolution settings, though I suppose you could keep it that way if your eyes are stronger than mine)

Just installed CM9 nightly and so far am very impressed, just as responsive as Slim, if not more so, with more features baked in. (and Cyanogen's folks usually only add good stuff)

The one thing I missed in CM9 from Slim is the weather in the notification drawer.

Both are good IMO, but most of the time I prefer Cyanogen.

currently running chimera v1.1 (ICS 4.0.4) by Team-Passion for a little over a month now...

no issues so far with very snappy response browsing through menus and settings with hardly any lag and has a lot of customization as far as appearance. 911 works (personally tested by me), also with the newest kernel (1.3) gps locks on quickly after deep sleep and still goes into deep sleep after initial lock(was an issue on passion/euphoria). battery life is pretty good after a few cycles... depending on which apps you use, i have no problems getting 15 hours or so a day with around 30% life left when i get home. this is with occasional web browsing, checking email and playing games all on wifi plus texting and voice calls.
possibly the best thing about this rom is the inclusion of the AROMA installer which basically lets you custom tailor your install of the rom. you now have the option of choosing which components you want(or dont want) installed. you can choose your kernel from a few popular ones, different modems(ka5/7 kb5),different launchers, a bunch of popular apps, boot animations, plus a lot more that i cant recall...it even has the Beats Audio files and regular/inverted Gapps...or choose to install just the sheer basics without any system or third-party apps. i must say that its nice to have the option to pick and choose what you want installed along with the new rom rather than having to reflash whatever you prefer thats not included in whatever other rom.

I cant post links yet but google team passion and check it out...

i haven't tried ICSslim yet but i have tried ICzenwich rc1.8, a few cm9 nightlies, ics passion and euphoria and i liked them all and they all had their own different features that i liked but i think the Chimera rom has done a pretty good job of bundling them all together. I really liked cm7 way back when and when the cm9 rc or stable version comes out, i may give it a try but until then, i'll stick with chimera.

just my personal opinion/experience...

as a side note, try rom toolbox pro. it is the only other root app i have(besides rom manager of course). it lets you control just about anything you would want on a rooted phone. cpu overclock, app+data backups, app freezing, root explorer, startup tweaks, auto start manager, a few build.prop tweaks, voltage control, and even throws in the ability to download and change boot animations, icons, themes, and over 200 fonts... combine this with chimera and i have a 2 year old phone which makes my brother envious with his iphone 4...

Aloha
