The reason why iPhone hole the value because there is very little chance between each version. If their fans are small, they would not buy it whenever they have a "new" product come out. But what am I kidding, there is a reason why they are fans.

Its all about the condition of the phone. If your note is mint like mine you'll sell it for $400 cause people will rather pay $400 for perfect condition than $300 for some old scratched up junk. In 6 mo. Your $350 nexus will be worth $199 or less cause its used. How's that for devaluation.
You are probably right about the nexus losing its value in a year but in that case I can get always the next nexus for 350$(if Google keep the same trend) and if I can't sell it next year I can keep it as a backup phone and still get the new one. While the note 2 is going for 700$ now by December it will probably be down to 500$ because of the deals and it's popularity and by March the note 3 will come out and the note 2 will cost around 300( that is all based on the trend of the note 1). And I know that everything tech loses value pretty fast, but I really didn't expect the note to lose its half its worth in 7 months.

As for the OP's whinge, who cares, everything that isn't a "durable product" devalues fast, think about how many THOUSANDS your car devalues the second it's "used".
Nope didn't miss it. Read further into what i said and you will see i said FOR ME ( with my 5 lines). The way i read it, it.was being stated not to subsidize at all. Which could have been wrong on my interpretation but oh well.. Each individual will always have something that may work best for them but totally different from another's experience.
