[Q] remove gmail

Does anyone know how to remove/sign out gmail from the device without do a factory reset ?my android version is 4.2.2
If you aren't going to use it at all and your device came preloaded with Gmail, then you can disable it in your Application Manager in Settings. It'll be in the All tab. If you are rooted, you can freeze it or remove it with various apps as well. I'm not sure of a way to sign out of Gmail but keep signed into everything else like the Play Store.
