It's still 4.4.2 with Android L Theme that needs to be applied.
I find the overall performance to be quite poor.
Going back to my previous build...

Flash latest ROM 20150116

HI All,

I flashed the latest ROM over my previous build 20141218. to 20150116. In SPFT selected ALL and took the scatter file out of the latest ROM.
Don't forget to choose the CarlivTouch Recovery too in SPFT in you want ROOT. Otherwise choose the normal recovery into ROM so you can do the OTA's.
After Flash i did also the wireless update 20150212-183927.
Testing it....

GPS Recap

Time for a recap of the ZP999 GPS problems.

Different type of GPS problems have been reported:

- Bad GPS reception from day 1
- Degrading GPS reception over time
- Bad GPS reception after official OTA firmware upgrade

Mostly related to problems after firmware upgrade:
- GPS reception is bad unless:
- Engineer mode YGPS is the app with the focus
- Phone screen is turned off

Solutions:
1. My problems started after an OTA software upgrade. After a lot of experimentation I got results by flashing a pre rooted version 20150116-205748 and using the Format + Download option in the flash tool.
2. I also read about people seeing better GPS reception when pressing the back of the phone above the NFC connection with the battery cover removed. This hints at an antenna problem (just like the zp998)

I decided to investigate this as well and attached some pictures of the inside of the phone.
It is the middle pin on the phone that responds directly to attaching or detaching an antenna.

I still had some copper foil laying around from my ZP998 experiments so I decided to make an antenna while my phone was disassembled.

Testing right now if I have a stable working situation again.

Pictues enclosed.

Interested to see other peoples experience.

After testing the latest 20150116/20150212 stock ROM i do not see any improvements.
ANTUTU test :
with stock ROM 20141216 : +-46000 (multiple tests)
with stock ROM 20150212 : +-40000 (multiple tests)
So after all worse than before...so back to 20141218

Hi, I hace a zp999 pro rooted with kingroot and with the last update 20151202.
The phone goes fine, sometimes goes off when disconnect from charging.
But the thing that I don't know how to fix is when I try to enter to stock recovery is that says "no command" , the recovery menú appear but you can choose any option, I have to take out battery to reboot.
Any idea?
Finally I can make recovery works, I press power button to enterbthe recovery menú, press volumen +&- to move un the menú, select option and hold volumen+ , it works. Sorry by muy english.
Thanks

Well, with a broken LCD and lots of patience, my ZP999 is back to life. The "surgery" went good and is "alive and kicking".

Based on this ZP998 LCD replacement video, i get hands on an did it my self. It was the 1st time i have adventure in something like this, and with appropriate tools it wasn't as difficult as i expected.

Here are some photos:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/...073741836.100000568036079&type=1&l=d8ed4335c8

next step is to get some copper foil, like BuDDaH did, to improve GPS reception and stability.

Good job! I looked into removing the motherboard just out of curiosity but didn't know how to remove the connectors to the volume rocker and camera / off buttons.

Before going my route with copper foil you might want to check out:
http://forum.zopomobileshop.com/foru...xtra=#pid22843

I'm still not entirely happy.

AndroiTS shows reliable fix and good reception but during navigation it seems the accuracy doesn't match the signal strength!

There are periods when there is a good fix reported but I'm still 'all over the place'.

Good luck!

Just a small tip for anyone that hasn't tried that - instead of 'High accuracy' go for 'Device only' in Location / Mode.
Gives me really quick lock to number of sats.

the link is incomplete...

after the LCD change the GPS is now functioning very good and fixing very fast (1-5 seconds)
Most probably because the internal connection is now good. with this GPS performance i will not put the copper foil :good:

im having a strange battery behavior.
Cell standby (24%), wifi (22%), phone idle (18%) and android system (18%) are all draining more battery than screen (10%) what is uncommon for my usage. All my last phones had the screen as most battery killer. Im running on latest ota update.
Already flashed back to factory but results was the same.
by the way my gps is working perfectly. Fix in less than 10s.

I'm not able to get root in the way described here.

Problem is, that Flashtool expects a BIN-File, but the recoverys downloable in post1 are in IMG-Fileformat.

Usually I would push the IMG-File via ADB.

Does this work on Zopo 999 or do I brick my phone using ADB for this job?

Al my previous phones I did this with ADB.

I believe you can get root on the ZP999 when using Kingroot. Otherwise you need to flash a custom recovery (via Flashtools) and then install SuperSu from there.

As I wrote, I don't know, how to get a img on my phone, using flashtool while it expects a bin-file.

If I would know how, I could give it a try.

Have a look at this tutorial I wrote, and especially look at the attached screenshots, a recovery file is always an IMG file. In a full rom package there are bin files indeed, but those are preloader, logo and ik.bin. The other files are IMG files, like boot, recovery, system.img.

@juliotec any aprox date on release and test?
I compiled the first cm 12.1 rom but didn't boot im checking the problems in boot right now, but the recovery stock cm 12.1 work good, boot and install zips from internal storage and adb sideload too, so recovery cm 12.1 work all. So I think that system is ok, just need tweak the boot files to finish a first booteable cm12.1

Juliotec are you still with us? I hope so! Anyway I have had problems with inversion of memories as if I put an external sdcard the phone take it as sdcard0 and the internal storage as sdcard1. I really don't know why because this problems persists even if I set internal storage as default storage in Settings-->Memory
Are there any fix? Or I did something wrong? Thank you in advance!
Sorry a was a little busy, but im still develop cm12.1, im just trying to finish the init.rc to start testing the first cm12.1, im using the stock kernel, i dont like the source code from zopo they create more bugs than fix in each update, its crap, the source code has severals bugs and random restarts, gps give more problems, if my first cyanomoded work, i will do a new kernel, i will not leave this phone dead
