my tmobile G2 is messed up and stuck in the fastboot mode. i have tried your instructions and it didnt work, the download mode comes up for a brief second and then goes right back to fastboot. please help
Here is the F320L laf.imgThanks for discovering this method. My G2 320L is only able to enter fastboot mode.
I went through your steps:
C:\>fastboot erase recovery
erasing 'recovery'... OKAY
C:\>fastboot erase laf
erasing 'laf'... OKAY
C:\>fastboot flash laf laf.img
sending 'laf' (15360 KB)... OKAY
writing 'laf'... OKAY
Removed my battery and disconnected the USB, held Vol + and slipped in the USB again.
It flashed up the Download initial logo but then reverted to fastboot mode and not download.
I don't think I'm doing this wrongly, any ideas? Maybe the laf.img is not good for 320L but the page where you got your laf.img doesn't have one for 320L.
Regards, Albert
PLEASE HELP !!
i just can enter recovery mode (TWRP) but can't enter donload mode and fastboot .. i have D802 model
what can i do now PLEASE HELP
Question: Now I've gotten over the fastboot loop problem, how do I force the phone into fast boot? I think I'm missing a recovery or a boot partition, anything the laf doesn't rebuild.
It‘s ok,now u can use command dd in adb shell or twrp's terminal

Two days! ! Finally my big black brick was REPAIRED!!
Suggestion: PLEASE Read my pevious post FIRST
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2476972
My mom no longer warries about my G2 would become a brick! ! !
(Er, impatient guys can look at the red part only)
I promised in my pevious post, "If I could got my F320K brick repaired,I would write down my process in detail to help my friends stucking in the same problem"
I'm not professional, I'm just one of the thousands of G2 owner, BUT if I can help my friend out of trouble, no matter how many obstacles are there in the way, we would never give up.
Thx for all who replied my pevious post, without you, my machine is still a big brick ...
Most grateful to weiqinjun in GFAN, he gave me what i needed to repair my phone (see http://bbs.gfan.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=6728131&pid=188315198 )
Well , we are now beginning
First in fastboot mode (refer to my previous post, I enter it by plugging USB into G2 with pressing the volume + ), we need to download "fastboot tool" (I posted at the end of this thread,in a 7Z file)
With this tool we can flash IMG into phone's memory partitions...
Then we need to find the corresponding img package .
I used to think of using recovery (enter method, holding the PWR and volume + for about 5 sec),but this machine seems to have a locked bootloader, unoffical recovery could not be started, But the official one have no use, pass)
Through trial and error, I found that each mode is associated with a partition (the recovery.img flashed into boot, it would start recovery automatically when booting)
So I think the download mode is related with a partition which has been lost.So i need a IMG file for this partition. . .
this time weiqinjun helped me find http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2
I just tried one by one. Finally, I found it. . . .
! ! ! NOTICE! The following is the method of repairing DOWNLOAD MODE:
1 get your phone into fastboot mode, connect to the computer with usb, wait for it automatically installing the driver
2 extract the 7Z file I provided into a ROOT drive,for example D:
3 Open CMD, input
After OKAY appear, we can get battery out (IF your phone can't ,you should inputCode:D: fastboot erase recovery fastboot erase laf fastboot flash laf laf.img
and press the PWR butten for a LONG time..till it FULLY power OFF),Code:fastboot reboot
get your USB cable off, then insert your bettery, holding the volume + and insert USB cable to connect with your computer...
I'M GLAD TO SEE YOU AGAIN, DOWNLOAD MODE! ! !
The operations after entered the download mode, see http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Notice: This time you should flash tot file with LG Flash Tool only...refer to the second part of this and find the tot and dll file by yourself...

Thank you for this guide!! I was able to restore my borked VS980 back to stock using this guide and adding a step, along with using a couple different boot/recovery files. Thank you again!!
Ok, so when I try to turn on my g2 it is stuck on fastboot and then if I try unbricking it through this method http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-unbrick-lg-g2-back-to-stock.html it will get stuck at 49%. So is this my fix? Is this guide what I need to do?
I also have a vs980...Can you please step by step (sorta noob not really) show me. I have messed everything up. Turn on I get to fastboot mode. Try to go to downloading mode brings me to fastboot mode. Any help will be greatly appreciated and I really need this help
