Wow. The popup thing was causing lag. Thanks. One more thing, how to change time in lock screen to something like 7:00 pm instead of 14;00?

I checked into the 24 hour time thing as well and there isn't a lockscreen settings control for the time. There might be a way to hack it, though. ajrty33 might know since he ported it. But I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't display am/pm (usually that is self-evident, though).

As for keyboards, I use SwiftKey 3. It's just a little top heavy, but is feature rich and has excellent text prediction functionality.

Incidentally, what "pop up thing" are you talking about that was causing you lag? Just curious...

when you type and the letter pops up above the key

Yeah the Asians like the 24 hour time. If I remember right, it should be a mathematical edit in the lock screen that would fix it. My new laptop is arriving today, so I'll look at it eventually.
I know the miui lock screens are simply XML files where everything can easily be changed. I don't remember on this one. I'll have to look at it.

I was about to reply that my clock show the 12 your format here but then realized I am also using the sliding tab lockscreen. The coopui lockscreen is the only one to use the 24 hour format. The other 2 use the 12 hour format. What xml file would I look in for that?

also, what are you using to view/edit xml files from android? Seems every xml viewer I try says its not a compliant xml file and notepad++ just looks like a mess. lol

I just use regular old notepad or notepad + in windows.
I'll have to look to find what I'm looking for

Ok. Probably will be last update of my phone. I cleared away almost ALL lag by clearing cache after installing the rom, I have no idea what happened there.(After I uninstalled useless apps with titanium) I now have around 100Mb free memory. This is crazy. I love this rom, thanks so much! :)

Cool, will look forward to learning about the XML update. I prefer the Coopoui rings... 24 hour time isn't really a bother, but it would be nice to have the option for 12 hour.

LiGux equivalent ROM for Evo 3D?

By the way, I just picked up an Evo 3D and I'd like to install a ROM on it that has LiGux like functionality and appearance. Is there one that anybody here could recommend?

Depends what your after. If ICS is your flavor and you want working 4G you will need a Sense 3.6 ROM. The roms running sense 4.0 and up do not have working 4G. Drop has some pretty sick roms. I ran the ZR3D-XL PLUS for a while and it was amazing but wanted to try a JB rom and will never go back to ICS! Not anytime soon.

If JB is something you are thinking about then I would highly recommend Mazdas AOKP. Only drawback right now is not 4G. Some other JB builds have 4G working but Mazda is working right from source and the whole rom is from source pretty much so its not another rom tweaked. I am running it and it has so many amazing features it is amazing! Plus not having Sense the rom is only like 159megs and not 450+

The link to it is in my sig. I love it.

There are so many amazing roms for the 3D. Enough to make your head spin. I have flashed about 10 different roms and so far Mazdas TEAM DIRT rom is by far the best rom to date I think.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions, Hippie. :good: I wonder what it is about the custom ROM's that are not able to use 4G. Did HTC come up with some proprietary functions in Sense for ICS, to try foiling the custom ROM development? Or does it have something to do with LTE being favored over standard 4G?

What is it about ICS that puts you off in favor of JB? I'd read about some introduced inefficiencies in ICS when considering it for the Hero, but figured it wouldn't matter on the 3D (at least that was my initial impression).

Looks like the Mazdas JB rom has working 4G now but he is fixing some other small bugs before he releases it.

I just like the overall look and feel of JB over ICS. Then again the only ICS roms I was only using was official sense 3.6 based ICS roms and never went to any 4.0/4.1 sense roms.

Also, make sure to get 4EXT recovery and get the paid 4EXT app. Its worth every cent and allows doing all of your recovery controls and managing back ups and everything right inside the rom and its super easy. Here is the link to the recovery controller in the play store (https://market.android.com/details?id=ext.recovery.control&feature=search_result). The link to the recovery dev thread here is in my sig.

4EXT looks to be very feature rich. Lucky that the Evo 3D is among the supported devices.

Speaking of JB over ICS, what's the deal with people downgrading? People would actually want to run GB on the Evo 3D? There must be some advantages, but unless JB has a lot more overhead that makes GB run like the Evo 3D has a far more powerful processor, I can't see why...

Well, ICS is an official release by sprint for the Evo3D as where JB (There is no official JB for the Evo3D from HTC/Sprint) is not. It has basically been ported to work on our devices.

As for why people might choose ICS over JB is that they want a sense based rom and/or want working 3D. 3D does not work on any JB roms at the moment and unless HTC releases a JB build for it then pretty sure it wont work ever. I can say in the year and half I have had my 3D I have taken maybe 10 3D pictures just to show it off to people and thats it so its no big loss to me.

Other then that, everything works on most JB roms now. I ccan report 4G works great on Mazdas rom now as well.

Yeah, I did see that ICS is the officially supported ROM for the Evo 3D, and I can appreciate wanting to use it for the aesthetic appeal of Sense. In my opinion 3D never really "worked", but is more of a crappy gimmick. ;)

So I think I misread the terminology. When I saw "downgrade", I thought it was about putting Gingerbread (GB) on the Evo 3D. I see it's now about rolling back to an earlier hboot. I would like to see an LiGux version of JB for the Evo... but I suspect that won't be happening.

You are correct on the hboot. Also, some hboots dont support all of the fastboot commands and anything JB does not support 1.58 hboots. Seeing you can swap hboots on the 3D now I stick with 1.40. Some sense roms though (coolexe roms for example) dont like anything lower then 1.58 and will cause boot loops.

^ Yeah, thankfully there's a decent guide for showing hboot compatibility with popular ROMs. Also, most developers tell you what hboot is recommended for their custom ROM.

But wow, what a leap ahead the Evo 3D is over the Hero. I find Sense works really well on stock. No lag at all. Yet, can't stay stock for long because there are so many great ROMs to try. Serious support out there for that phone. :good:

One thing I really like about this ROM is the active settings control widget call-out from the top right corner of the screen. It makes it SO EASY to change settings this way! :good: I've not seen this available on any other ROM, unless I've just missed it.

Does anyone know if it's a bundled add-on to LiGux? Is it possible to install this separately in another ROM? I really wish it was available for the Sense 3.6 ROMs.

Did you have firerats partition mods on that hero? If so, you need to reflash it after loading a new rom.

This is based on a rom by Kirin at diypda.com. It is based on Cyanogenmod7 with LiGux and Coopoui launcher. It's extremely lightweight, quick, and stable. My modifications are listed below.

    Screenshots:

    cjJDD.png

    69WI7.png
    3qdec.png

    MvQIO.png

    jpGMB.png

    Details:
This rom is basically a highly themed CM7.2. I give all credit to the developers of LiGux, Coopoui, CM, and the Heroc. It includes the expanded LiGux settings which allows a lot of customization. I'll expand on customization/options in the second post. It features "pop-up" notification power tweaks from the top right of the status bar.

    Modifications:
Updated kernel to 2.6.35.14 (thanks to jaybob413 for his kernel work)
Removed Chinese from many, many various locations
Edited build.prop to remove unnecessary info and align it with current CM build.prop
Removed battery and memory tweaks from boot.img
    Removed a few init tweaks
Modified updater-script to align with up-to-date CM standards
Changed available cpu freqs to standards in boot.img and framework
Edited eri.xml in framework-res to add Sprint
    Replaced PinyinIME with LatinIME (keyboard)
Edited MMS settings in framework to remove Chinese carriers and align with CM settings
Edited apn settings in framework to align with CM
Fixed a few mis-translated words and a couple missing translations
Fixed text sizes in apps that were lost in translation
Fixed messaging menu force close with Kirin update
    Updated included gapps
Updated Coopoui and LiGux to latest available versions (3.2)
Updated system files to latest from CM
Removed Chinese 'market crack' options (plan on removing this completely from settings)
Added 'missing' apks and removed Chinese apks
Fixed a few mistakes and a whole lotta little things.

    Working:
Everything, as far as I know.

    Issues:
    No known issues.
Please let me know if you find something broken and I'll fix it.

    Download:
LiGux (Coopoui) v3.2 R1 010712 Changelog: Original release
R1.1 010812 - Changelog: Removed stk.apk. Accidentally left it in the zip file. That's the only change.
R1.2 010812 - Changelog: Moved gmail from /system to /data so it can update without issue.

    R2.0 011012 LiGux (Coopoui) - Download link MD5: 4423497adcbb97eff461222173a91471
    Changelog:
    • SystemUI, framework, settings are all updated now.
    • SystemUI and settings are all compatible... no more settings force close
    • Completely new UI
    • Includes LiGux boot animation (I can provide the old one if you'd like it)
    • Edited LatinIME to match the gray-ish theme
    • Fixed Chinese "new" message icon
    • Removed some more Chinese
    • Changed some text to fit better
    • LiGux lockscreen (make sure you click it to allow it)

All credit goes to the Heroc developers who got the Hero to where it is today.
Thanks to Jurellz for originally bringing my attention to this rom.
All thanks goes to fat-tire for the fire he lit :)

I really like this ROM. It seems faster than most. There are a few issues on my phone with it so far. I am using Firerat at 130/18.

    Issues:
    1. rotation doesn't work
    2. force close on several of the settings entries (like Display/Brightness)

this next update (coming very soon) will fix all of that.
I tried to update the liguxsettings.apk, but it didn't work very well.
This new update will have all of the latest framework and settings.... it's nice :) and it all works!

    Edit:
UPDATE HAS BEEN POSTED! Make sure you read the second post on customization!!!!!!
Let me know if you find any issues! Hope you enjoy the update

hmm looks interesting, but ur download link isnt working RC1.2

Sorry about that! I had to fix and re-upload. It's up now :)

    Customization/Settings Info
There's many available settings to customize this rom.

Under "common" settings, make sure to go under "keyevent settings" > "End button behavior" and select "Go to sleep." These settings are what you would normally find in Spare Parts.

    Lock Screen:
To activate the Coopoui Ring lockscreen, click the "OneKeyLock" app in the app drawer to allow permissions. Under "CM Settings" > "Lockscreen" > "Style Options" you can pick the style for the lockscreen and phone calls.

    Status Bar:
Click the clock to bring up the "notification power widgets." These can be changed just like CM in "CM Settings" > "Notification Power Widget" > "Widget Buttons."
Pull down on the left side of the status bar for notifications!
Under "personal" > "system ui" you can enable weather on the lockscreen. This works! If the weather doesn't show, go into the "News and Weather App" and make sure it has your location and the current weather shown.
You can also center the clock under the "statusbar ui" settings.

    Change apps in homescreen tray:
The first setting I looked to change was the apps in the tray on the homescreen.
Press Menu at the homescreen and go to "DeskSettings"
    Select "dock settings"
    cNLqi.png

From there, click each of the four DockButton settings to select the apps for the 4 slots in the tray.

    Status Bar Transparency:
Under the "personal" tab on settings, you can enable transparency in the statusbar. Under "statusbar ui," click "statusbar background" > "color fill" and slide alpha all the way down.

    App Transparency:
Under the "personal" tab on settings, you can enable transparency in app windows. Under "system ui," click "set window background" > "color fill" and slide alpha down. I recommend not sliding it all the way down so your apps at least have a dimmed background.
Here's a screenshot with some extreme settings:
    0T6Q0.png

There's many other settings to play with!

    Boot Animation:
    g9tmis.png
    3kJnXs.png

Here's the original boot animation... Flash this zip in recovery.

uhm i was able to get the latest market, just gotta wait. Usually it will update when u use wifi so it can update faster. The icon wont change though but u can check market setting it will be the latest.
Oh and the message text probably says New text =P i say just turn it into a solid color.
As for the battery thing I'll probably just do a clean charge.
BTW I was able to send a mms and recieve just did it once though but it worked fast no problem downloading it too =) forgot to mention that.

This is all great news!!! I'm glad I don't have to dig into the market updater.
Very glad MMS is working, too!!!!!!!! I know that's something that has plagued the other Chinese roms.

I used Google translate and figured out it says "new." Ill fix that and a few other issues I've found.
