There was nothing crappy about the nexus one. I have a 2010 I/O edition nexus one (yes, the one with AMOLED and a QR back cover) and it still runs like a champ with ZERO issues after 3 years. The Sensation wasn't exactly loaded with issues, and the build quality was great. I'm no HTC fanboy either (owned a Rezound which was a complete POS) and from my experience, HTC has the best build quality, although there is good to be said about the Razr M and MAXX HD.

ROM: CyanogenMod 10.1
Recovery: ClockworkMod Touch
Kernel: franko.Kernel

The One X and the Sensation both had issues with the first batch only. All devices have issues on the first batch, and they were quickly eliminated.
