Damn, i just wanted to update the phone and wanted to restore all my deleted applications.

apparently, none of my "backed up" applications are able to be restored...

could somebody provide me with the following applications:
City ID 1.0.30
Backup Assistant 2.2
Backup Assistant 1.0
Yahoo Contacts 2.2
Help Center 2.2
Emergency Alert 1.0.0
My Verizon Mobile 5.0

would be really appreciated :)

Edit: If i would run a Factory Reset, would that restore all my deleted system applications?

Edit 2: It's ok, thanks goes to jwgraves62 over at androidcentral :D

Could you hook me up with the Yahoo Contacts 2.2 .apk? It's the only one I'm missing right now. Thanks!

Can't give you anything, because my device is bricked :(
Copied over the whole package, shouldn't have done that, i guess...

Did the same exact thing you did and now we are both on the same boat... Endless boot loop... Please let me know if you find a fix... Thanks

My Droid Pro is bricke due to copy/unzip whole app.zip package to system/app.

Is it possile it is because the file permission issue?

Can someone post Friendfeed.apk and Friendfeed.obex for Droid Pro? I tried the DX and D2 versions, but they won't take (using root explorer to copy to system/app).

Nevermind, found it. Search for droidprodump.zip. installed, going to see if update now works.

Download and install the Droid Pro SBF... http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=887073&page=2

Once installed, your missing apps will be back, and the update will work :)

I'm a little scared to do all that. Have you tried it?

My assumption is that if anything goes wrong, I'm bricked.

If you or someone else can post the apps folder I'd much rather try that route first!

Thx

It's not as involved as it sounds, but you should definitely use caution. I installed the SBF yesterday, and everything went fine. It's only a few steps and took about 10 minutes. None of your existing stuff will be overwritten because that's in the cache and SD card which stays intact. If you want to start from scratch you can "wipe" the cache and SD card to factory reset your phone.

And to confirm, the update installs, all apps restored (which i promptly expelled again), can re-root.

Installing the SBF is a whole lot easier than restoring each app. From the looks of this threadd, it may be safer too.

Since the SBF is released, I'll never worry about the miss-deleting apk issue.
Following is the list I have appended a suffix with bak to prevent them from booting/loading at boot time to save the phone's precious RAM and the phone is working without any issue.
If there is any new update in the future, I can just rename the file with bak suffix to its original format then apply the system update.
Moving the bloatware to sd card is more convenient way than mine.

Code:

I've seen several people mention disabling the TTS packages. I did this and maps started crashing. TTS is the text-to-speech program, so apparently it causes navigation to crash whenever it tries to tell you where to turn.
