Flyhoney launcher loops and other misc...
So adding certain widgets as I said before to flyhoney results in launcher loops. I have to either remove the offending application (to kill the widget) or delete data on htc sense app to get it to stop. I flashed the alternate boot.img and phone fix zip, but nothing doing. Same problem with the Gmail widget, and a bunch of other one off widgets. After a tough night re re re setting my desktop pages, I switched my launcher to adw ex, and configured it to look as much like stock honey as possible. Seems to be working fine, no issues with any of the previously crashing widgets. I really miss my sense widgets though, especially calendar and email.
2nd, the camera and video recorder seem to work fine. But I'd like to be able to use gtalks video call feature and g+ hangouts. Right now in gTalk, as soon as I receive a video call, my picture shows up nice and pretty in the bottom right corner with no video issue, but the callers video is scrambled to all hell. Then about 10 seconds in the call ends abruptly.
Anyone have any ideas on how I might fix either of these issues? Im pretty much loving fly honey otherwise, it has great, great speed even if a little battery heavy.

I only have problem with HTC mail widget. The fix is suppose to be simple and is in the first or second post of this thread. I have no pen lag and HC blows away GB because the digitizer and pen work completely through all apps and replaces finger input too. I had an Android ThinkPad Tablet first and sold it because my HC Flyer is smoother and faster.

I hadn't read this until after I posted my comment above, but yea, I did the same thing. ADW with most of my aftermarket widgets works nicely. What are you using to replace the sense email widget? Thats my biggest want atm. Im market searching apw widgets. I have the emailwidget I was using on my droidx, but its pretty terrible compared to the sense email widget

I have not found an email widget as such. On my Xoom I run Moxier as my Exchange email and it has an email widget. Maybe I will use it on my Flyer too. Gmail has a mail widget. Android Pro Widgets are very customizable.
There is currently no way to fix the camera issues. Nothing can be done there until HTC drops another leak or a final release.
I have searched in vain for widgets to replace the Sense widgets and for some there is really nothing close (email, bookmarks) . The best email/agenda I found is Executive Assistant, but even that is not what I like and it requires a different mail app.

I haven't tried, I had difficulty getting the app to recognise I had music initially, until I moved it to the internal storage (it didn't work off my external SD).
Haven't tried beyond that - what sort of problems do you have?
I'm going to try and replace the system music.apk with the ics one and see what happens.
At first it wouldn't install but then I figured out that problem... I forgot how at the moment... But now once it's installed, it Force closes as soon as it's opened. This only happens with the ics music on the honeycomb ROM. Like I said before, I'm on the stock HC ROM, but I was hoping maybe one of the guys in here would have experienced similar issues.

yeah, it's honeycomb that seems to be the problem, so I thought I'd ask around in here. When I was on the stock GB ROM it worked fine as well :/

The stock HTC Music app works fine - however I noticed the playlists don't seem to apply, has anyone else noticed this?

EDIT: Okay, here is the answer:
The hboot changed, the radio changed, the kernel changed and appears to be incompatible, all the methods I tried this morning to 'get it on' failed.

is there a custom kernel for honeycomb out yet? i dont see one and im interested in tweaking some more and OCing the tablet. searched and came up empty.

What you need:
If you come from Gingerbread, you have to follow this guide before you flash FlyHoney ROM, otherwise your device won't boot! Installing Honeycomb on your Flyer - the complete guidehttp://android.modaco.com/topic/345950-installing-honeycomb-on-your-flyer-the-complete-guide/
Installation:
- Download FlyHoney ROM and place the zip on your SD card
- Boot the device in recovery by holding vol-down + power
- Optional: Go to backups and restore and perform a backup
- Choose the option "wipe data/factory reset" and confirm
- Then choose the option "install zip from sdcard", then "choose zip from sdcard" and select the FlyHoney ROM zip file and confirm
- After flashing, reboot your device
IMPORTANT:
If you don't want to have wifi issues and you want to get my custom scripts (speed scripts, ram optimizations, zipalign on boot) and the mail widget working, then you have to flash the boot.img from the ROM zip after you flashed the ROM:
- After you flashed the ROM, boot in fastboot mode (adb reboot bootloader)
- extract the boot.img from the ROM zip to the folder where you have the fastboot.exe file
- Open cmd and switch to that location (where the fastboot file is)
- Type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (without "") and press enter. Then you're fine and you can enjoy the rom
