You can try flashing another ROM, it might work.
I'm using this one. You can also try a WM6.5 ROM but, personally, I think that they still have a few bugs that needs ironing out.

same problem with my Viva....

i emailed HTC's tech support and they said that maybe some 3rd party software might be causing it.

what i did was: i removed all the unneccessary Notification queues (scripts) using SKTools... these notification queues are either made by 3rd party alarm clock apps or by script makers like Mortscript, which i also uninstalled... in my case, it was pTravel alarm that's causing it... i also tried Mortplayer and it was also causing it because of mortplayer's alarm function. (don't try Mortplayer, i had to do a hard reset just to remove it)

best thing to do is: uninstall all 3rd party alarm clock software, check the notification queues for unneccessary ones and restart your phone.

I'm not sure that was a third party problem cus i hard reset
my viva many times and hard reset remove any third party
softs but that not resolve the problem.
and i have good news , after doing many tests finaly i decide
to remove my SD card and then hard reset the device.
and yes , that worked for me but when i insert SD card again
the problem appears , what does that mean? is that mean that
i never can use a SD card ?

Thanks all for help

Your SD could have a currupted file or your whole SD is....and is causing something wrong when your device reads it, and causes your present problems. fixing this problem is easy yet hard

yes it's not a 3rd party software problem... because my viva's problem came back!
i already did a hard reset with NO other apps installed then after one hour, the volume softens (you can't barely hear the ringtones and mp3s) and the sound speeds up.

but when there's no microsd inserted, the volume is loud and the music speed is normal even after so many hours.

i tried both 8gb (Ridata) and 4gb (Kingston) microsd... after an hour... boom! same problem. :(

is this a microsd "brand" problem?

It could either be you have currupted files in your sd or it's a sound driver gone wrong but the "currupted files on an SD is closer to the logic"

i found out that instead of soft resetting the Viva, you can just call your own number and enable the speaker... then the sound will be back to the normal volume and speed. ;)

check it out if it'll work on your Viva... but of course you'll hear a busy line when you dial your own number. :D
