No its because they believed that the requirements were too great for a gaming phone. They thought there would be performance issues running ICS and playing PlayStation games.

Sony said that they have learned from their mistakes that they made with X10 and X8. They will built their software on top of android instead of including it with android. Which makes it much easier to update. This is what I red in a dutch magazine
They can update x8 to froyo,there are plenty users with x8
But they wont,lazy bast4rds..
