Default [Q] Gingervillain S-Off

Hello,

I'm currently using Gingervillain 3.3 with root access but S-On.
Because I want to use the 4Ext Recovery i need S-Off but the revolutionary patcher tells me caroline had a segmentation fault when I am trying to use it.

Does anyone have a clue why it does not work with gingervillain?
Do i need to flash back to a stock rom?

Thanks in advance
Nico

i'm not sure if you need to s-off your device.

i use the clockwork mod recovery (with ICS), and it works fine with s-on.
--> 2GB ext3 + amarullz app2sd
you could try the same.

have you partitioned your SC card correctly? most people have reported that it works best if you partition 1GB of your SD as ext4 via your computer (not in recovery)

partitioning sd card has nothing to do with s-off...

@OP
- nandroid backup
- try bortak's troubleshooting guide, stickied to top of Q&A, number [3]
- (optional) change hboot to cm7r2 to gain more space, look for guides on how to do this, i recommend using fastboot
- nandroid restore
- install 4ext recovery, use app from 4ext.net is easiest
Device: HTC Desire | Nexus 7
ROM: MildWild V-4.3 | Paranoid Android
Kernel: 2.6.35.14_R4 | franco.Kernel
Recovery: 4EXT Recovery Touch | TWRP
____________
let's all try to get along ...but remember to search first...

A nandroid Backup is something im gonna do, too, did a CWMR Backup yesterday.
Borkat Troubleshooting tells me i need Stock ROM to change S-on to S-Off.
So do i need to put a stock rom on there, change s-off and then reload my old Recovery image and restore it to get my current system with s-off?

Edit: I'm gonna oull a backup with CWMR - and then do a full wipe and install the stock rom. Gonna change s-off then full wipe again and restore my backup.
That should work, shouldnt it?
