EDIT: I just want to add that I ran into this problem with my power button yesterday. I have no idea how - my phone has almost always been in a case! I followed the vid tutorial and everything seems to be much better now! Thanks!
I will add that I used a spudger, this one to be precise: http://www.amazon.com/Menda-Soldering-Probe-Nylon-Spudger/dp/B000PDUHNC/ref=pd_sbs_op_3, and did not mark or damage the phone in any way. This is not the best spudger out there, but it did the job.
