Hey guys,

if you didn´t know yet, you can check when your HTC One was manufactured.
To find it out, go to settings >Info > device identity and check your device serial.
This is going to be helpful, when we try to identify batches with lots of defects and the other way round. + you can check the batch quickly via settings.

Edit: There is a way to find out everything via an official CN HTC website.
http://219.80.249.25/IMEIQuery/IMEIQuery.aspx?ct=zh-CN

(thanks to @rambo12345)

For example mine is
Code:
HT32W
You only need the the serial part before the second W ( mine is HTC32WWxxxxx ).

decode your serial likes this.
Code:
HTYMDAABBBBB

[B]HT = Vendor HTC--> Hsinchu, Taiwan or SH = Shanghai, China
Y = Year (3 = 2013)
M = Month (hex 1...C = 1 - 12 months)
D = Day (hex 1...9A..Z = 1 - 31 days)[/B]
YY = Part Code
ZZZZZ : Identification Number (decimal)

--> so mine has following info:
Hsinchu, Taiwan, 2013, February 28th

Please check yours and post it so I can collect them here for a better overview over the different batches :fingers-crossed:

Easier and faster way to check your device serial etc thanks to @parkerr42 :
Hi,
I just read your thread: http://xdaforums.com/show....php?t=2209277
and I think i know other place to check HTC serial, production date, model:

https://imeidata.net/warranty/htc

IMEI: 357871052212xxx
Serial: SH47FWM00xxx
Model: HTC ONE (M8), HTC 0P82300
Prefix: M8#UL-D1
Manufacture (Factory): Shanghai, China
Sold To: UNITED KINGDOM
Production Date: July 16, 2014
Phone Age: 0 Year(s), 4 Month(s), 5 Day(s)
Factory Warranty Coverage: July 16, 2016

That work perfect with my phone, and i think it's good idea if you can update your thread to everyone know.

Additional Info:
Hi all,

Here's some news for you, whether you be interested or not!

HTC are changing their Serial Number format from the classic HT[year][week] to something a bit more... exact.

The new format will read similar to HT[year][month][day]. I presume that they wish to be this precise for warranty purposes.

The month format shall be between 1 - 12, but the day format will take a slightly different shape.

Days will go from 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z. Day Z represents day 31.

Could you Check your Display manufacturer ?
There is a thread in general with instructions. If it has a sharp display , this factory could use the sharp displays .

Like said before. This will be great for looking at different photo qualities etc. If we could get a specific comparison of similar images by different month made phones....

It would be really interesting if the phones with gaps between the plastic and aluminium came from the same factory and day, if so, which and when.

Three phones, three different color temperatures, three different vibration modules.

    Unit 1 (silver)
    • Fabricated on 12th March 2013 at factory Tierra del Fuego Factory in Argentina (Serial: FA33CWxxxxxx, Panel ID JDI C2_2)
    • Power button: very flat
    • Gaps: small hairline gap at the top only
    • Vibration module: very soft, this is clean sound but a bit soft for typing feedback
    • Display: color temperature slightly on the cool side
White color temperature: 6950K (some meters will incorrectly measure this up to 350K higher, especially if not using the right spectral file for the type of display)
    Black Level: 0.37cd/m² to 0.50 cd/m²
Black Level (typical voodoo test pattern): 0.43 cd/m²
    White Point: 370cd/m² to 490cd/m²
White Point (typical voodoo test pattern): 435cd/m²
Typical Contrast (without adaptative mechanism): 1000:1
    ANSI Contrast: 1100:1

    Unit 2 (silver)
    • Fabricated on 3rd April 2013 at Hsinchu, Taiwan factory (Serial: HT343Wxxxxxx, Panel ID JDI C2_2)
    • Power button: protruding a little (easier to feel)
    • Gaps: gap at the top is smaller
    • Vibration module: stronger than unit one but a bit untidy/dirty sound on its highest level (e.g. notifications)
    • Screen: neutral color temperature, slightly lower contrat:
White color temperature: 6550K (some meters will incorrectly measure this up to 350K higher, especially if not using the right spectral file for the type of display)
    Black Level: 0.50 cd/m² to 0.64cd/m²
Black Level (typical voodoo test pattern): 0.52 cd/m²
    White Point: 400cd/m² to 530cd/m²
White Point (typical voodoo test pattern): 466cd/m²
Typical Contrast (with adaptative mechanism): 900:1
    Typical ANSI Contrast: 970:1

    Unit 3 (black)
    • Fabricated on 12th April 2013 at factory Tierra del Fuego Factory in Argentina (Serial: FA34CWxxxxxx, Panel ID JDI C2_2)
    • Power button: very flat
    • Gaps: absolutely no gaps
    • Vibration module: same stronger vibration as unit two, but more tidy, nice feedback for typing (favorite so far)
    • Display: Even cooler color temperature unit 1 but same brightness and contrast
White color temperature: 7200K (some meters will incorrectly measure this up to 350K higher, especially if not using the right spectral file for the type of display)
    Black Level: 0.37cd/m² to 0.50 cd/m²
Black Level (typical voodoo test pattern): 0.43 cd/m²
    White Point: 370cd/m² to 490cd/m²
White Point (typical voodoo test pattern): 435cd/m²
Typical Contrast (without adaptative mechanism): 1000:1
    ANSI Contrast: 1100:1
