I just lost 50% in 8 Hours which is way more then i was getting with .20
I`ll try to reset the battery stats and see if that helps matters. If not, i`ll revert to .20 until CM work on their ROM

p.s: i`m watching fauxClock (just opened that and wifi, thats all) and i can see both Cores jumping from 192mhz to 1.56Ghz ever second. Also Faux Clock is getting superuser permissions every 2-3 Seconds.. Thats weird.

Use .072 or system tuner pro, .075 has huge issues; yeah, my battery life is really not great.

I _did_ have the 'android system' hogging resources before, but I also use Powermax -- when enabled (wifi/3g killed) it seems to settle down, then 'cell' takes the lead in power use. Is this 'system resource hog' issue related only to the radio???

Ill bet reboots are due to EFFIng with the cpu voltages guys. Stop messing with UVing...Theres no way in hell you will double your battery life by dropping 50mV...It is retarded to think so.

I left UVing behind and have NO reboots and NO better or worse battery drain. I used to have them all the time...Not anymore!

My battery drain is fine. It goes down to 4mA/Hr when I leave it alone for the night.

Just try it out...Leave the voltages where they OUGHT to be. The chip manufacturers KNOW what the hell they are talking about when they tell you what to use for voltage. Its in THEIR best interest to spec the lowest voltage possible, why doubt them? They do this for a living, not for fun.

If you are going to flame me, you better have some facts to back up your claim...Not antecdotal BS. Lets see some tests and results.

EDIT: Sorry to sound angry...Im not, I am just frustrated with people claiming someone's work is faulty when they insist on doing something like UVing a processor that is being asked to perform at this phone's level. Faux has done an outstanding job here. Give UVing a break and see how it goes.

So I was playing Modern Combat 2. Had cranked up the CPU to 1.78. Locked CPU1 online. It locked up, hard rebooted and then refused to boot up. Got stuck on CM boot screen. I'll also be trying the NoHz. Grr. Had to reflash everything. From scratch. My dumb ass deleted all my backups to make new ones and hadn't made them yet.

I've been running all the betas up till now... I loaded R1 last night, but my battery drain was terrible (CM7-A9). Back to Faux-b9 kernel, and it went back to normal.

I was going to ask the same thing, you beat me to it ;-)

For me it's CM7A9 and Faux 2.3b9 at the moment.

@Faux: Many thanks for the effort on Sensation and enjoy your Holiday to other Android Islands. It's been a nice Kernel progression from start to now. Hopefully at odd times you'll come back to visit the Sensation island.

It's only been 6 hrs since I applied r1 on my alpha9 but so far the battery usage has been outstanding, just 6%. (I don't modify anything; I just drop it in.) Even though my use has been fairly light this morning I still think that number is better than any of the betas I used before this one.

Nice work Faux!

Switched Over to NoHz

NoHz is working great for me. No more rebooting. Thanks!

Got another soft reset on r1-JRCU. Screen was off but I was SSH'd to my phone. I got the disconnected error message on putty and the phone showed the boot logo a couple seconds later.

Giving the NoHz a shot.

I'm using Faux's recommended settings via FauxClock .75.

Edit 1: So far so good! Not sure if this is related but HSPA+ and the data connection in general seem way more stable.

Yeah. I don't know why, but my phone likes the NoHz kernel much more.

I flashed the 1.56Ghz kernel. When I went in CM Performance settings to change the governor to smartassv2, I only found the default governors. Is it not there, or do I have to flash another kernel?

    This is my eleventh kernel hack. I want to thank Cyanogen, CyanogenMod members, Erasmux, and several others I cannot recall for inspiring me to venture into this unfamiliar territory for me.

    What is a Kernel? The Kernel is the Foundation in which everything else builds upon in any software system.
    [Car Analogy]: Kernel is like the Engine, Electrical system and the Transmission to a car. The Library, Framework and the Apps [AKA ROM] are the body frame and the rest of the Car.




    THIS KERNEL is BASED ON CM7 Source Code. So it is COMPATIBLE ONLY WITH CM7/AOSP Sensation Builds.

    Please DO NOT use any task killers, they DO NOT improve performance nor battery life. They INTERFERE with your phone's stability (more crashes) and App compatibilities (Forced Close).


    Joe's RCU (Optimized for Small SMP systems)

    Joe Korty has created an RCU for small SMP systems (> 32 cores). His approach is to isolate all the Garbage Collection (GC, a slow time consuming but necessary processing) to a single core, thus allowing other cores to ONLY work on real required processing. This will allow the additional cores to complete their assigned tasks as fast as possible (not bogged down by GC) then immediately go back to a suspended state (saving battery).

    Fast No Hz RCU (Optimized for SMP operations)

    Fast NoHz is an optimized version of the traditional Tree RCU. Many new kernels are using the Tickless NoHz design. This RCU is tailored and designed to work with the new NoHz kernel system.

    SmartAssV2 Governor (Balanced)

    This governor has a built-in "profile" similar to SetCPU, so screen off will use lower clock rate thus conserve more battery, but it also has a fast wake up feature so that user interaction will not see the lag when switching from Sleep to Wake state.... (So SetCPU Profiles are sorta redundant when using this governor, you can still use SetCPU to OC to higher than default Clock frequency).

    Interactive Governor (Performance)

    This governor is designed to put more priority to User Interface (UI aka Apps) tasks, therefore appears more responsive then the traditional OnDemand governor. So if you want the smoothest UI interaction, this governor is for you...

    Brain F*ck Scheduler - (BFS)

    This scheduler is designed to be simple and speedy tailor specifically for user interface type systems such as desktop/smart phone devices where user interaction is MORE important than serving 1 million web requests (CFS, the default scheduler) at the same time (think of nimble desktop workstations vs large corporate servers).

    SLQB - (SLAB allocator with Queue)

    This memory allocator is designed for small number of CPUs system (such as desktop or smart phone devices). This allocator is design to be simple and it is optimized for using order-0 pages as much as possible (order-0 pages are the simplest therefore quickest type of memory in a Linux system to allocate). Not all kernels are using SLQB including CM7 main line...

    Fair Budget Queue (BFQ I/O scheduler)

    This I/O scheduler is an improvement on top of Completely Fair Queue (CFQ). CFQ is fair in terms of time but not in terms of throughput / bandwidth, so BFQ make sure that both time and throughput / bandwidth are balanced across all requests.

    1. download the above file (via phone directly or to a PC)
    2. copy the downloaded zip file to /sdcard/download/
    3. Open ROM Manager and select "Reboot into Recovery" and select "OK"
    4. Once in recovery, select "wipe cache partition", select "Yes", then select "advanced", then select "Wipe Dalvik Cache", then select "Yes" again. Once finished, click the back button to go back to the main recovery menu. On that menu, select "Install Zip From SDCad", then select "Choose zip from SDCard", then go to /sdcard/download and select the downloaded zip file and let it run its script.
    5. Once the script is done, select "reboot system now"

    Note: After FLASHING, the first reboot may take longer than usual, please be patient... After the first reboot, it may lag during initial load (let everything finish loading). Once everything is loaded and phone is ready for use, reboot the phone a 2nd time and the lag will be gone and everything should be silky smooth...
