Was waiting for the vibration to be ffixed now im going to be a tester too!!!! :D
Oh and a quick question are those files updates or the whole firmware that i can flash directly??

Awesome Waleed! Looking forward to it! Thanks a ton for taking this up!

Just one request: Please update the kernel to v7 UC kernel (non overclocked version) when it is released (the current v6 has only overclockEd version), as the governers have been optimized and the bugs ironed out.

As for some of the questions:

@Jakelong00 and Devilhell007: all of these are complete flashable ROMs. You just need CWM to be able to flash it (ie the UC kernel, Amit's CF-ROOT etc).

They can be applied over earlier builds as well, but note that you will need to the reinstall Google apps addon pack, and configure some settings as well.

@Everyone with doubts about the UC kernel: Doomlord said that the kernel meant for stock ROMs cannot be used with CM. However, he mentioned that if the ramdisk from CM was added instead of the stock, it would work just fine, as the kernel is compiled from released-to-AOSP sources (as with the usual CM kernel). This is what Waleed has done.

Is waleed a cm developer? Sorry coz i really dont know. Just curious, how come he fixed it if codeworks just ditched the project? Just really curious.

He isn't but that's the beauty of opensource where anyone who has the knowledge can modify/upgrade an existing code to make it better. Codeworxs is currently focusing SGS 2. :)

Hopefully codeworx would have the time to check on waleed's work. :)

actually, it was strong enough that if you were t make it vibrate at its strongest for an extended period of time, your hands might start going numb :eek:

no, I don't know how to actually do that, but yes, I can estimate based on vibration strength :D

plus, if I'm still having GPS issues later, I'll be going back to stock and I can tell you how it is ;)

hehehe man i meant from my reply that i can't describe how vibration is and he have to test the rom to find out how strong it is :p

    First of all this project is still under development and it can't be considered as stable.

    Install instruction:
    INSTRUCTIONS:

    - First time flashing CM 7 to your Galaxy SL (or coming from another ROM)?

    Install a Kernel with ClockworkMod Recovery (any one should work).

    Reboot into Recovery
    Do a Nandroid backup!
    Install the ROM from sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
    Optionally install the Google Addon


    - Upgrading from earlier CM7?

    Do a Nandroid Backup!
    Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
    Optionally install the Google Addon (might get lost during update)


    There are no Google Apps bundled with CM ROMs, because Google asked Cyanogen to remove copyrighted apps, after flashing rom don't forget to flash Google Addon package if you want it.

    NOTE: Your device will be fully converted to EXT4, except for the efs partition. You'll lose all data on the first install!

    hello guys am partially back on CM7 but i will mainly be working with dhiru1602 on CM9, i will keep working on both projects but i will give CM9 more time we are trying to get the camera working on CM9 and then port the 3.0 kernel to it.

    :D good news guys camera bugs are all fixed but one , the overlay rotation have some bugs and i think it's gonna be fixed easily since i got what is the wrong with it.

    front and back camera are fully working(capturing, previewing and all the other features) preview now is working after capturing a picture and it won't freez anymore.

    to night i will try again to work on the rotation bug hopefully it's gonna be fixed, tomorrow i will upload the new changes with a new release

    ps: this don't include the video recording.

    - sound wrapper for legacy audio is ready, but will probably not work because of samsungs abi breakage
    - no hw composer
    - no camera
    - no video hw codecs
    - wifi might work
    - bluetooth might work
    - gps might work

    pretty useless. ;-)
    hope TI will release the necessary sources for the omap3 platform soon.
    then it might be possible to get the camera working.

    hello guys,
    i've released the video playback fix now you can find the new release in the first post.
    kernel is updated to UC v8 new governers and better power consumption.

    video recoder have some progress thanks to dhiru1602 and it think we are near for the fix. :D
