Xperia Z (C6603) Generic GR firmware (.FTF)
Downloaded through SEUS, decrypted and repackaged by Flashtool v0.9.16.0.

Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband: 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110089-64
Kernel: 3.4.0-g32ce454 BuildUser@BuildHost #1 Wed April 9 16:52:42 2014
Build number: 10.5.A.0.230
Customization Version: 1270-4986_R1D
Branding: Generic GR (Unbranded Greece)
Country: Greece
NFC icon: NO

This works on ANY Xperia Z (C6603).
Your Xperia Z does NOT have to be rooted.
Your Xperia Z does NOT have to be bootloader unlocked.
This does NOT re-lock a SIM unlocked phone (unlocking is ONCE and PERMANENT).
This does NOT unlock your bootloader.

IMPORTANT: if you are rooted on your current fw, it is recommended to make a backup of your TA partition (see instructions below). After flashing this firmware, you will lose root and the ability to backup/restore TA partition until you gain superuser access again.

Step 1 [IMPORTANT!]: Before upgrading, root your Z and make a backup of your TA partition using the utility and instructions here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2292598

Step 2: Flash the .ftf file

Step 3: Unlock your Z's bootloader (this will wipe data!)

Step 4: Flash Doomlord's Advanced Stock Kernel: [URL="http://xdaforums.com/xperia-z/development/cwm-based-recovery-6-0-4-5-xperia-z-t2167381[/URL]

Step 5: Copy the latest flashable SuperSU zip into your sdcard: http://download.chainfire.eu/420/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99.zip

Step 6: Enter CWM Recovery and flash SuperSU. Then reboot and make sure that su is working ok.

Step 7: Flash only Kernel and FOTA (exclude all else) from the provided stock .ftf

Step 8: Using the same tool (BackupTA), restore your TA partition.

Your phone should now have the latest official firmware with root and your bootloader, Bravia engine/DRM certificates should be intact.

Takes a little time but its the only 'clean' way of rooting this latest version of the firmware.

Could you please link a thread where this is been described as I have never done this before.

Thank you for your guide, I am currently trying to understand it so I can have SD Access again on 4.4.2

Are you Greek?

The last thing you would want to do after following all the procedures is to install Nut's dual recovery. It worked for me. Thanks to the respective devs. :)

i had similar problem solved by doing this

hold power and volume button until phone vibrates 3 time (keep holding after the first singe vibrate)

then hold volume down insert usb (so you connect in flashmode) then try flashing with a ftf from driffrent country

Only getting us baseband (no signals)

I am still getting US Baseband. Choose US Baseband via "Testing Menu", no way to revert to Indian Baseband.

Please help, I have tried every single FTF file available (Including the one in this post) on net but still getting no signals on mobile. I really need yo fix this, please help someone.:crying:
