Who said I'm in the US, if you check under my user ID it says San Jose, and that flag is from Costa Rica.. I'm not in the US..

i used EVOVPN for a couple weeks, it was great.
but they are going to a pay-to-use service. so i can no longer use that.

i have tried several VPNs using the android settings. but have not managed to get any to work! grrrrrr

so i rooted my phone to try VPN connections 0.99, and i cant get it to connect using the hotspotshield credentials.

YUNA: what do you have typed in to you IPSec gateway adress? I can only read part of it: securephon...

ive tried using 68.68.107.101 as the IPSec gateway address but does not work.

help, please, i LOVE pandora!

EDIT: i just realized that the IPSec gateway address is suppose to be securephoneshield.com

so ive tried with that, but still no positive results.
ive also tried the widget from the market called VPNC, using the hotspotshield credentials, but that doesnt work either. :(

I Think the problem is Kernel Related, cause I have tried several and with some kernels VPN connections works and with some it doesn't, still I have only managed to connect not browse... :(

or you could do the following

HotSpotShield for Android(Root Needed)

So steps to setting up HotSpotShield

1. Download VPN Connections 0.99
2. You need to get an user name and Password from HotSpotShield (Click on get Account ID)
3. Open VPN Connections 0.99
4. Settings for VPN Connection 0.99:

Make sure VPN is enabled
Select "Add Another Network"
Connection Name: HotSpotShield
IPSec gateway address: 68.68.107.101
IPSec ID: hss
IPSec Secret: hss
Username: "The one obtained from the HotSpotShield"
Password: "Same as Username"
Password + Token Digits: Unticked

5. Click on "Add"
6. Press and Hold on "HotSpotShield" and select Connect.
7. It should take a few seconds and you should be connected.

I don't know about the FC's but VPN Connections will not work on all ROM's, this app depends of the tun module to be present on the Kernel, not sure where exactly, and at least I have tried like 8 roms on my HTC Desire and on none of them I have been able to connect over 3G, I did once connected over Wi-Fi but I was unable to browse. So I guess my provider is also blocking the ports used by the app.

you can try VPN widget, from the market, it kinda does the same, but only works with wi-fi, I've tried that one with hot spot shield and it did worked, but I want 3G tunneling not wi-fi.

I Kinda gave up on this..

I can connect to a VPN on my Dell Streak but I have no internet access nor can I access any other resources while connected. When I disconnect, everything works normally. I am running DJ Steve's 1.8.0 ROM. Any help as to why I cannot access the internet while connected to a VPN (any VPN) will be appreciated.

This is working for me

I think I mentioned before, but to all give it a try with VPNC widget, (from the market) I'm using that to connect to Hotspotshield on my Desire with Aurax Rom.

It is working even over 3G

VPN Connections never worked.

Hope this helps

I was going to create thread on this. Glad I used search first. I have no problems paying for 1. I just have no clue which ones are worth the money. Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My 2nd choice would be Private internet Access, which is cheap in pricing but has huge numbers of servers. The 1st choice will be Expressvpn which is not so cheap but it has huge number of servers and great support. still working with Netflix USA and it will also allow you to download torrents with the best speed.
