Does the first boot normally take a while? The first boot, after rooting then installing this thru CWM, took about 5 minutes and kept going. Just did a hard shutdown (in the middle of the animation). Is it normal for it to take longer?

Yea, both builds took awhile, although the new update didn't take as long...maybe 2-3 minutrs

I hate that message, if you go into the market settings you can turn of the option to auto create a home screen shortcut or something along those lines then you won't see that anymore. I think its something I've seen on all roms including ICS on my ns4g...

Loving this from except the keyboard how can I swap it out for something more standard? Hate the settings button at bottom right and no go/enter button

Also Netflix doesn't load videos and YouTube has errors

Keyboard is swapable (i.e. Swype keyboard working on it)

Netfix is not working like on other ICS ROMs for KF, just read OP :)

Is anyone else having problems with connecting to WIFI? I've tried a MIUI rom and two ICS roms but can't get wifi to work on any of them. It works fine on my CM7 backup.

also a few bugs, sometimes crashes, or self reboot, hot and drain the battery very quickly, Flash is not supported, at PC connection complete data is not found sdcard, must reboot.
Overall this rom also quite nice, smooth touch. Worth a try!

I love this ROM!
But please upload to somewhere easier to download from.
I know SOPA ucked it all up for us but MediaFire still works and it's fast.
I don't want to make an account, just download.

I can't find any way to download this ROM... the download site is just too cluttered and I don't want to mess with creating an account. Is there a way to download without creating an account?

Welcome to the "Energy" ROM collection thread !

This development thread is the home of my "EnergyROM" custom firmware series for the Kindle Fire device. Here you will find ROMs that I have created for this device over time. My main goal when putting a ROM together is stability but...

I build my ROMs with four main goals.

    • Stability through private beta testing before public release
    • Eye candy ( I want my ROM to look great and for it to all flow together nicely)
    • Speed !!!
    • Smoothness, consistency and good aesthetics
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go. So, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set. Doing it this way, makes for a nice ROM that's ready out of the box.

Now on to the good stuff...

(You can stay up to date on the status of my ROM development by "following" me on Twitter)

    How to Flash this ROM:

    - Root your device
    - Install TWRP custom recovery
    - Install the downloaded ROM .zip found in post #3
    - Make sure to do a Factory Reset / Wipe before installing ROM

The ROM was just updated. Enjoy guys :)

Recommended installation routine (to avoid FCs and accounts disappearing..)

    1. Copy over the new ROM zip to your tablet's internal storage
    2. Reboot into your recovery
    3. Make a FULL backup of your current ROM using the recovery.
    4. Do a Factory Reset
    5. Install the new Energy ROM zip file (5.29.2012...)
    6. Restore the backup your just made but make sure to only have "Data" checked.

    Reboot and enjoy!
