what is the advantage of 1.2.1 update

i know too late to ask .... but i heard the reader in the new version is best from the older one ... but when i do upgrade ... they r the same

anybody have any idea .... thx :)

No, there is no major difference on the 1.2 Reader (except that the file is now ReaderRMSDK.apk).
The eInk user interface (EpdController) was changed from 1.1
That means that 1.2 Reader only works with 1.2 system.

You might as well run the latest software.
That way we'll all be talking the same language.
We should be able to run the 1.3 software when that gets released.

After reading this and some other threads you've been in, Renate, I think I've finally got an explanation as to why Coolreader's partial refresh seems to be broken in 1.2.1. I didn't know the eInk handling code had been changed, and the CR developer(s) either doesn't know or hasn't gotten around to modifying it yet (at least in the most recent CR version I've got installed). My regular NST is still on 1.1.2 so it behaves normally, but I just got a used NSTG off eBay and I've been trying to deal with that ever since.
