What are the instructions to install this SBF.
The update bricked my phone. I was unrooted.
I got / phone says

Bootloader
D2.37
Err:A5,70,00,23

Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable

However, If I pull the battery, then press x on the slide-out keyboard, and power on, the phone will show the red M and go to a screen that shows a droid under a white triangle with a yellow exclamation point inside.
What are my possibilities?

On a side note, my husband called VZW and raised hell about the update killing my phone. Verizon Tech support called it "Manufacturer Defect" and are sending me a refurbish Droid2 with the new update already installed.
Thanks to everyone in advance.

You need to press the up arrow on the keyboard when you boot to get into Bootloader, X is to get into recovery.

What you posted above where it says to connect to USB is the screen you need. Then connect to RSD and hit start.

that's for Droid 2 Global (Droid2we)
and it's been out since, 21 April 2012
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1611125
do not use on anything other than D2G (A956)

Tried that with my D2G, got FAILED message even after several retries.

Via Rootz, should be the very top file (10/5/2012):
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/

Code:
1FF-p2a_droid2_cdma_droid2-user-2.3.3-4.5.1_57_DR2-31-110719-release-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf.gz
1FF-p2a_droid2_cdma_droid2-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_DR4-51-120117-release-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf.gz
1FF-p2a_droid2_r2d2_cdma_droid2_r2d2-user-2.3.3-4.5.1_57_DR2-32-110726-release-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf.gz
1FF-p2a_droid2_r2d2_cdma_droid2_r2d2-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_DR4-52-120118-release-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf.gz
1FF-p3_droid2we_cdma_droid2we-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_D2GA-59-120117-test-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf.gz
VRZ_A955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf.gz
VRZ_A956_2.4.33_1FF_01.sbf.gz
VRZ_A956_4.5.608_1FF_01.sbf.zip
VRZ_A957_2.4.5_1FF_01.sbf.gz

What's the difference between the 1FF and VRZ files?

And what's the diff between these files?

Code:
VRZ_A955_2.3.20_1FF_01.sbf.gz
VRZ_A956_2.4.33_1FF_01.sbf.gz
VRZ_A956_4.5.608_1FF_01.sbf.zip

use 7 zip, to uncompress, first .zip, .gz, .7z needs to end in .sbf
http://download.cnet.com/7-zip/3000-2250_4-10045185.html
use 608 sbf first, unless you know phone had 629 all ready
https://sites.google.com/site/motosbf/droid-2-global-sbf-files

629 is harder to root, see http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1592154
if you try 608 and see mem blank error, you need 629 aka 1FF-p3_droid2we_cdma_droid2we-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_D2GA-59-120117-test-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf

    Hello,
I bricked my phone trying to downgrade from the 2.3.4 update to my R2D2. (I knew better, but what can I say?) I currently need a stock Verizon 2.3.4 sbf for either Droid 2 or (preferrably) the R2D2 to flash back to. I have a spare phone I will run to my office tomorrow to use for now, but I really want to unbrick by beloved R2D2...

The official ROMI'm looking for is 4.5.622.A957.Verizon.en.US

    ****SOLUTION POSTED AT THE END*****
The sbf has been leaked, and is available:
