Hi
I hope you don't mind me piggy backing on the end of your post but I've found myself in a very similar situation.
What I've done so far:
I was on TMOB-005 so I downloaded the relevant file from this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1957376)
Re-Locked bootloader
Flashed new HBOOT (Now showing as 1.39.0000)
Unlocked bootloader
Flashed CWM (Everything appeared to go fine)
When I enter recovery from HBOOT my handset just hangs on the white HTC, quietly brilliant screen.
When I do "Fastboot getvar version-main ", the result is: 3.16.110.4
I also tried to do the fastboot erase recovery command but i got some "access not allowed" type message.
I've repeated the above steps a couple of times but no joy. Any helpers?
Many thanks
Ian

Fixed. I used a different version of CWM and it worked a treat. By different I meant *newest*
