Re: [ROM][AOSP][LINARO] CarbonRom 1.5 beta JB 4.2.2 [d2att] » Mar 3

For those not booting on 19 and 20, did u dirty flash or clean? Cause when switching to a version with a new kernel it is strongly recommended to clean flash

It was a clean flash, system, data, both caches. I went to the 3-17 nightly and that's running really smooth.

Try just force stopping Bluetooth share next time instead of rebooting.

will try this thanks.

That only works if all devices are synced, still need to reboot for new pairing.

Agree, my main issue is bluetooth still seems glitchy all around. When I first pair my headset the bluetooth toggles on and off several times on its own before actually pairing. I would know as I flash like crazy anymore. I hope it gets fixed soon as I'm tired of flashing lol. Just want something stable and reliable for all my normal uses so I can stay put :) (team carbon do not take that as a knock on your work, I love your rom far above all others!)

I've been on 03/17 since it's release and haven't had a single issue regarding bluetooth thus far. :fingers-crossed:

Just tried again for kicks.... Shut bluetooth off and my headset. About an hour later I turned bluetooth on again then headset. Headset said turning on, then my phone toggled bluetooth on and off twice finally ending on ON and my headset said "connected".... So crazy.

Vote for my bug report on this issue to bring more attention to the bug, https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-504

This was the original issue I had with 1.4 and 1.5 I believe. That has changed now though with the 3/16 & 3/17 nightly (where I'm on 17 now)

Has anyone else tried flashing a different kernel with the latest build? I flashed the latest KT kernel and it caused my phone's screen not to come on at all. I had to go back to recovery and flash the build again to get back to stock. I was just curious to see if a different kernel would fix the power button issue, since one of the dev's said that was the issue on their FB/Twitter accounts.

I dirty flashed the latest nightly along with the bms kernel and my screen wouldn't come on either so i went back to recovery and reverted to 3/17.

I tried that one too and had the same thing. I've got the power button toggle turned on in Quicksettings and my display lockout to 15 seconds instead of 1 minute. That should hold me over until there is a fix for the power button.

I believe task's latest kernel is based on 3.4.0...

I'll give that one a try

Ktoon just released a 3.4 version as well.

KT 3.4 kernel is available. His work is incredible. Great battery yet performance is good.

-----

I see stevehkim already noted this kernel.

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1756776

KT is the first one I tried but caused the phone's screen to not come on after boot. I think I figured out what I did. I didn't notice two links for his kernel for ASOP rom's. And I bet I did the 3.0 instead of the 3.4. I'll try the 3.4 and report back as well as trying task's.

UPDATE: Both KT's and Task's kernels for 3.4 flashed fine and phone screen worked, still no power button use. I'm gonna flash the latest ROM and just be patient until its fixed. Thanks for the posts.

Dev's just posted on G+ that a new build is coming out shortly with a fixed power button!!

    About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

    Features
Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

    Download Carbon

All Carbon downloads and further information such as features, changelog, and FAQ can be found on our goo.im page.

Both nightly and release builds are available. Please note that nightlies are for development purposes. This means that they may not work properly, may not flash, may not build for days at a time, and will probably eat your cat. If you flash these, know what you're doing, have backups, and don't complain when something happens. It's on you!

    Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

    4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.

    5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Updated my "fan made" boot animation if anyone is interested. I reduced the filesize a bit and re-sized some things.

Edit: I used the wrong image for a part of it. Just fixed.
