When I turn off the screen, I see wifi switched off at times. Nit specific to this kernel but have experienced this is on other kernels too. My wifi sleep policy is 'never'

Okay got an hour,
My to-do list finished:

-reboot/reboot to recovery fixed
-sr2 gb battery driver included seem to provide good battery life
-stability related remaining all remaining vadonka's ics branch changes merged(thanking once again vadonka)
-HW accelarated 24bits 48khz codec audio/video media playback instead 16/44.1khz. Though voice call related bits same as 8 bits
-reverted 32 mb hack. Making it default 0 mb
-OTF controled thermal protection added in battery driver, which regulate smart auto powersave profile switching to prevent overheat and to provide more robust control(up to 95%) to prevent charging bsod
-OTF remastered to be more specific compatible with ICS
-OTF GPUHACK added(Thanks to vadonka to expand OTF)

Finalizing to upload source very soon for devs.

Testing, fortunately hard for me to find an issue.
If everything seems to go well then an RC1 could be expected:)

Hi Spica, very happy to see moving on to CM9! Saturday today, chilling in, thought i might do some backup of my daily driver and check out cm9 for a bit. Are you planning to release this version any time soon? Should i wait or should i flash what's already available? Also, ur base rom is owain's kang, isn't it? Thanx

Yeah, I think it's best CM9 kernel up to date... didn't encounter any new bugs/freezes/reboots. Battery life is very good.

Thanks spica, you are really kernel master. Looking forward to any future updates.

And kernel is definitely a RC material. :)

I had 2 bsod with the previous version, but my phone doesn't like most of the kernels... I'll try the new one tomorrow and check if I'm lucky

Hi Spica,

I know that RC1 is out, but I still wanted to give you some feedback regarding the TestBuild as I've been on it since Friday.
Altogether the kernel is great with Owain's KANG, but I have encountered 1 BSOD when the device was sleeping. I don't know why. I can also confirm the problem with reboot. Reboot to recovery works fine but a normal reboot just switches the phone off. I have OC to 1.2 and it's very fast and smooooth :)
Last but not least - battery life :D
Since I unplugged 33 hours ago, I still have 56% battery left, although I don't use my phone that much overr the weekend, but still I can't remember such a great battery life on any ROM/Kernel since I got the phone a year ago. Great job once again!
I'm going to try the RC1 now - I just hope, the battery life will be similar :)

Cheers.

Reboot still doesn't work in RC1. I think vadonka knows the fix for it. He's using ramhack with his kernel and reboot does work.

What rom are you using? Mine doesn't work. :c

hi spica! its very nice to see you here! kernel rc1 is great! i just have one request, can you make a hpkernel cleaner so that we can apply that before testing other kernels.. i know your kernel packages come with other tweaks and files that may not be compatible with other kernels..its just an idea.. with hp kernel cleaner, those files will be deleted before flashing other kernels..

Recommendation for HP ICS Kernels for maxium performance:
    (*) Apex Launcher
(*) Settings-> Performance -> Memory Management -> Kernel Samepage Merging
(*) Settings -> Performance -> Scrolling Cache-> Default Disable (Thanks to Owain)
(*) Settings -> Developer Options-> Force GPU Rendering(May perform better regarding apps-opening responce and overall smoothness or may perform worst, test it yourself)
(*) Settings -> Developer Options -> Windows Animation Scale ->0.5x

    OTF GPU Usage(Credits to Vadonka):

To apply your desired RamHack, follow these steps:

    -Open Terminal Emulator
    -write command 'su'
    -write command 'rh'
-select your ramhack by enter value eg. 2 and then press enter
-wait till it shows finished message
-then write command 'sync && reboot' Mobile will be reboot with your ramhack value. Ramhack recommendations 32mb/48mb
    Enjoy the ramhack.

Lol. Yes as I said earlier next kernel will be 3.0 Kernel. I need to merge every of my OTF and other function manually so it'l take time. Till then you can enjoy the goodies of last release kernel. It's already smooth and effecrtive battery life;)
