So now, let's try to catch this issue (lost settings after reboot).
I retried everything from the beginning, and the result is the same : whenever I reboot I loose my settings, like the alarms I set with the clock app.
Here are the scientific facts :
- I reformated everything : FAT32, ext3, swap (yes I switched from ext4 to ext3 just in case of).
- I downloaded the very latest build "b" AmeriCanAndroid SD Standard, the file being named copeNwarren 022411b.7z, and extracted it, and copied the Android folder to my SD card
- I booted a first time and let it settle a bit
- I setup some alarms with the clock
- I did not modify anything else
- I rebooted [more scientifically: I first power off; let it some time off; then booted again]
- and BOOM the alarms have returned to their default values
Now, let's tackle this in an organized way.
Copenhagen, Warren and Docent, you all three are saying that you can't reproduce this.
But are you sure, in the first place, that you are using the SAME build ? I mean, you probably use an in-house version, but have you tried to actually download the 7-zipped files ? There is always the possibility that some file has been corrupted. Maybe it even depends from which site we have downloaded (multiupload, rapidshare, hotfile...).
To Warren: maybe you would never notice the problem, because you don't have the same phone (I have the european HD2), and therefore not the same version of the build (standard vs TMoUS).
To Docent: you have tried to reproduce, but during your procedure you have restored with Titanium Backup, thus you no more have clean conditions for comparison.
And a final note : I have noticed that the build.prop file has been messed up in the Feb24 "b" version. This file sets up both the TMo DNS and the Google DNS at the same time, and has commented out the Docent settings. Can you check if this is what you intended ?
