[Q] Blank MMS between custom os devices
Important parts bolded for tl;dr alleviation.
I've been having some difficulties with using MMS and custom roms, however they're working 100% with a stock OS running.
With custom os's
I'm able to send to most devices. However a friend and myselves MMS's are blank when we send to eachother.
Both of them using Cyanogenmod 10 at first, I've since tried sending with different roms to no avail.
Apologies if there is a known workaround for this already. I tried searching
, and the closest thing I could find is http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2080855
It looks like they found using "inverted gapps" worked better, then went on to ask about how mms.apk might be involved?
A clear answer wasn't found
by the looks of it.
Is it a simple matter of replacing MMS.apk to change how this reports in to my carrier? Or using one of those inverted gapps? I'm assuming it's safe to make a backup in CWM and tinker with this, but I wouldn't mind having that confirmed before proceeding.
For what it might be worth, I've been able to determine with my carrier that when I send an MMS with the custom OS, a portion of my MMS profile updates with the attempt.
If the message is sent using stock touchwiz, my device type updates to http://wap.samsungmobile.com/uaprof/SGH-I747M.xml
Then as soon as an MMS is sent using a custom OS, the profile reflects http://wap.samsungmobile.com/uaprof/GT-I9300.xml
My friend's device is a galaxy s2x . Similarly, the international model is reflected in a device type url when the custom rom is used (i9100), then the proper variant appears instead if I use the stock OS (t989d).
Let me know if I've left out any details that might help, and thanks for your time!
