PSU failed in the PC, Took everything pretty much out with it.

Kindle died the same day, Dropped down the stairs, well, more threw in rage due to the PC.


Good news however, I am able to work on the script, and hopefully I should have a new kindle shortly, House insurance covered it, so fingers crossed I should be back within a few weeks.

Also, I will be removing the DL for 2.2, As from what I can see, It seems to be very hit and miss with it working, works flawlessly for myself, however 9 out of 10 times, it wont work, I get a feeling its something to do with drivers, so, I'd rather remove it then risk bricking anyones Kindle.

So can the OP put *DEAD* or something in the thread title so we know this utility doesn't exist anymore (at least not in a stable state, so the DL link has been removed)?

    After toying with my kindle for a while I realized just how hard it was for new users to actually go about "freeing" there Kindle Fire 2.

    Current Public Version: 2.0 - Download on second post
    Dev Version: 2.1

    So, here is Yet Another Kindle Fire 2 Utility (YAKF2U)

    Currently it all seems to work well on my Kindle (Apart from rooting, still working on that, it is in the menu, but as of the current build, will do nothing.)

    I know its not the best code in the world, it could be structured better, it could be more optimized and cleaned up, but it works, that's the main thing.

    To use the utility you must have ADB enabled on your device.

    Its also helpful (But not required in most cases) to have the Kindle Fire Drivers on your system.

    2.2 Update Released, fixes a few bugs, Downgrade bootloader should now fully work, more progress made on root, still does not work however.
