It was uploaded last night man. Its the same link. Google as a host allows for version control. (I like this better than sync thats for sure!)

Go for it. Log cat it andlet me know what happens

I have downloaded what I believe to be the first T-mobile ICS ROM for Galaxy Nexus that I am about to dissect to pieces tonight :D

Also there is no need for the wifi patch, seeming I had to re-upload a new version (and its tested this time to install) I integrated everything from the patch into the ROM. I have left the version number the same. Can anyone tell me if the OrangeUK T-mobile Signal Boost app will work on US T-mobile? Also once inside the App what functions are there cause I can get in and enable it and it is perfectly fine; no force closes or anything like that, there is only the issue of the very bottom option I can click it but it just does nothing? That could be for numerous reasons, but if all you do is go into the app and check the box and enable it then I think we have this one closed :)

Also, I had heard somewhere that using Market Enabler to fudge your ROM and service provider can get this app working. I of course was on a vibrant ROM last night when I tested this and it couldn't detect signal because......well....of course its a vibrant ROM not a Galaxy S ROM and we now know the installation proceedure is different and only allows wifi and no signal. I know that the app needs to have signal to register to A network.....at the very least, so tonight if I have time after gym I will come back and repackage the same ROM for Galaxy S (I put up with the pain in the arse button re-arrangement all yesterday and the day before....I can do it again lol) and I will try this to see if it will work :) If so I am wondering if you guys over in USA or maybe somewhere UK can post me a pre-paid (do they do pre-paid service over there?) sim card?
I know that T-mobile will work on international roaming according to their website so if that works and the market enabler works I will get my new Xperia up and running and use my Galaxy S as a dev phone for this and for testing :)

I am comming from ICS slim 3.3 and wiped data, system, cache and devlic and flashed. However when booting, it couldn't finish. I t is stuck in the broken colored glass screen. Left it for 15mins before deciding to reflash. What could be wrong?

EDIT: You probably downloaded the wrong version - I have now made it so no one can download the old version. Try that again for me first before doing what I instructed below.

Are you running a vibrant?

I know this ROM is for vibrant, but I tested to see if it would install on my Galaxy S and it installs and boots just fine.

Did you run the kernel cleaning script outlined in the OP?

If you are coming from any other ROM then chances are (and in this case it is a definite because no other ROM is running my kernel that I know of) then you should run the kernel cleaning script.

Besides that I would suggest a full wipe, and then do an advanced restore on data only. This is something that you should also always do when coming from another ROM. If you are upgrading new versions of the same ROM then I wouldn't worrry so much, but new ROM it helps to full wipe and re-log into your google account and then reboot recovery and restore your apps and data under backup and restore -> advanced restore -> data only.

This ROM should not boot loop. I have test installed it that many times its not funny.

EDIT: Mine did take an unusually long time to boot and was hanging in that animation for a very long time.

Nandroid backup
**NOTE PLEASE TEST THIS TO SAVE A CRYING GAME - attempt to do a restore on the backup you've just done and make sure you do not get any MD5 errors. Recovery cannot be trusted! If it starts to restore, do a battery pull and then back into recovery and then WIPE.
After doing a wipe
Run kernel cleaning script.
Install it ROM reboot
Go advanced - > reboot recovery (cause you will need to change recoverys if your in the red coloured one like glitch or what ever)
Install ROM again.

The install scripting is based off ICS SGS RC4.2 (obviously very modified) and it is "meant" to cover this in the script but I have found it doesn't with the vibrant scripting? I even had to do that to install the stock Vibrant RC 4.2 build on my Galaxy S? go figure.

I am going to add the above notes to the OP when I have finished work.

My phone got stolen last night out of my gym bag :( this is not cool at all!

Have to say there won't be anything in the way of updates from me for a while. Sorry guys. Didn't think things would end this way. Hopefully I can get another Samsung Galaxy S to toy round with and keep on dev'ing. Have a dead Xperia 10 sitting here that looks like it will get some attention till I head back from insurance today.

It was a Galaxy S. I don't own a vibrant at all LOL:eek:

cut copy paste. me = sleeeeepy zzzz:(

On an upside my phone was insured and I had backed everything up almost daily from the amount of flashing I do with developments and testing lol (I think you guys would fall off your chairs if you knew how much flashing I do lol hehe).....so that meant I had a choice of HTC Incredible S as offered or slight upgrade for Galaxy SII. Naturally I took the Samsung option.

What this means now is that I will have limited testing for Galaxy S1 unless one comes up at a good price for me. I'm not abandoning you guys, I am just going to be limited in what I can test before I publish sorry guys.

That doesn't mean anything is wasted though, just means I need a good reliable group of testers (oh and people who proof my work thanks by the way). On a plus note I will unwrap my phone root and build a ROM for it as soon as I get it no guesses with that one. And I will make an effort to ensure that what ever I release for SGSII I will also for SGS1.

I still have things to release for this ROM btw....so more developments on their way. Like my sexy system UI. Just have to wait and test on Galaxy SII (I hope that it will translate and work) and I also have a version 4.04 to release that seemed pretty stable on my phone. Only install and permissions were a ***** in data partition??? unsure why?

Anyway happy to re-vamp and release as a test (heck my whole ROM is a test isn't it lol) call it an alph alpha....sexy alpha at that though ;)

Wasn't kidding this time, I was really feeling flashy. Just flashed and watching the bootscreen right now. Hopefully, it will finish. Stand ready for my report.:)
EDIT: Still no joy, after 20 minutes, won't leave boot animation screen. I'll try flashing another kernel before I restore.
EDIT: I don't know what to say, but whatever it is that causes you ROMs to get stuck on the bootscreen is persistent. I could not restore because I got a mount error on the data partition. Then I flashed lipplols kernel cleaner then another kernel, and got the same error. Then I flashed lippols again, then SubZero #34, and the restore took, but it got stuck on the bootscreen. Tried two more times, doing complete wipes, system format, and factory restores and lippols, then tried to restore my last nandroid again. Took, but again got stuck on the bootscreen. Then, I totally wiped again, and just reflashed my ROM from scratch. This time it booted up. I'm going back in after 10 minutes and a reboot to see if I can now get my last nandroid back. Maybe in your flashes there is something wrong with the resulting data partition? As far as I know, this was a bug in Glitch that is fixed on the latest, but I'll ask. (Actually, I can see that it was fixed, and I just did a nanroid, although it hasn't yet booted.)

OMG dude! I have been experiencing the exact same issue! I started a thread about it. Its not my ROM thing its something to do with the recovery for nearly all ROMs. And your right Glitch has been the one (it isn't the glitch kernel its the recovery part of that I am talking about) that has not given me dramas.
ALL kernels so far that I have tried have given me stupid MD5 sum errors or never ending bootloops. One time I flashed a kernel and it took me nearly a week to get my phone online after it had corrupted a nandroid backup. I had important messages in that so I wasn't prepared to let it slide!

Have you tried flashing my ROM then Flashing glitch kernel over the top of it?

I have flashed my ROM with my kernel but it was on Galaxy S....I got the weird button issue which is well known. And I also noted that using the boot.img file for my ROM plus teh Galaxy S button configuration did not solve the button issue....only partly solved it, and no matter what I would not get any reception only wifi.

I am no kernel dev but I am going to see if I can get the best of both worlds + more by getting my head around GIT hub and learning to build a kernel my self. Not from scratch but (with permission of course) using the best part of glitch which is recovery. The glitch kernel its self nearly toasts my phone to hell. It isn't a crazy battery mucher its average but my phone is (or shoudl I saw was) so burning freakin hot to touch. No matter what version of glitch I used either, all were the same and that concerned me a lot. I didn't dare think of over clocking it eeeeek:eek:

So my plan is/was is see if I can use Glitch as a base for everyone. Use Platypus (safe) settings for kernel inside of Glitch + kinetoGAN modules added + have the additional Broadcom BCM4329 drivers for radio that Semaphore has added into his kernel. So frankenstein ROM frankenstein kernel.....that will hopefully allow Vibrant callers to make wificalls. You rang? :p

I got so excited when I had signal boost opening and registering....I was going to flash again the other night and do a screen cast like I have in the OP to prove that what I was saying is working! I was so bummed that when I tested the boot.img that I had the no reception vibrant error :( I did however have wifi.....and that could have meant wifi calling :D which meant market enabler -> T-mob.....I even downloaded Market enabler from wifi from Google Playstore but had no baseband, however Market Enabler needs to first check what your current provider is before it will let you enable a spoofed provider = fail :(

I need to learn Kernel dev stuff anyway considering I am migrating to SGSII and I would like to continue this theme (wifi calling) over into that area too (as no other Dev is look after it there, and not other kernel Devs are providing a solution for it either?) So......

Anyway, seeming Glitch Kernel is functional on your Phones I will see if I can just build you guys two ROMs (obviously not Kineto enabled yet) that you can use as way of testing minor bug fixes for me? I want to provide these things to ICS ROMs in general. I.e Raymond you like the Samsung Calendar....so do I and I have that one "sort of" working that is made on CM7, but on 4.04 it dies!. So if your feeling flashing I will reupload my ROM with the basics and Glitch as well as a my 4.04 ROM with glitch and if you guys can see how that goes so that I can ensure that my ROM IS actually functional for vibrant that would be great.

Hope all this makes sense? It makes sense to me and gives me a bit of a plan of attack and direction to head. Better off doing something constructive with my weekend seeming I have no money and I cant go out anywhere with no license and ID :D

Need someone to test my swype keyboard when I finish it too! ;) and boot animation which I have neglected.

Have you tried flashing my ROM then Flashing glitch kernel over the top of it?
Yes, I tried that and it still wouldn't boot. I tried every combination I could think of including another kernel I have on my SD card, but still, it wouldn't finish booting. I think you are right that this is some sort of recovery issue with maybe a small component from the ROM. No matter how many times I tried, flashing different kernels and wiping, I could not get my nandroid to fully boot! It is true that on Glitch you can now make nandroids without it getting stuck on mounting data, but most times restoring that nandroid gets stuck on mounting data, and when it does manage to mount, the restored ROM will not finish booting, the same behavior as on your ROMs so far. At least that's what happend to me. I think data is not mounting when we attempt to boot the phone after flashing your ROMs and that is why it never finishes and keeps spinning on the boot animation. Evidently, both conditions, (something in the ROM and something in Recovery), need to be present for this to happen else it would happen on other ROMs too. But there is no denying that as far as nandroids go, the same thing is occurring which points to recovery as the major part of the problem, what can it be? Don't you remember how I once forgot to do a wipe install and flashed your ROM over another one and it booted? Then when I tried to boot your ROM after a complete wipe, it just spun at the boot animation and would never finish? Since you changed your framework away from that old version that was compatible with Onecosmic's and the first Doc Master's, I don't think that will work anymore. Long story short, the only way I could get my phone up and running again was to do a full wipe and re-flash Doc Masters V6. The nandroids just wouldn't take, but that meant using Titanium Backup to selectively restore all my apps then selectively restore data or use the Market to get all the apps back, then use Titanium to selectively restore the data. Just so you'll know, I did a full wipe restore to Doc's, then went into recovery to attempt first a nandroid regular restore, then the advanced restore. They failed! So even having a working ROM installed and trying to do a nandroid did not work. That's the rub. I'm not adverse to flashing if I can just do a nandroid, but if a full wipe and manual restore of data or a trip to Odin land gets my phone back, then I'm not too keen on flashing. I really hope that your fellow devs realize that there is a problem here and work with you to figure it out. What are we gonna do?

With default kernel nandroid fails with "failed to mount /data" It even does not mount /data manually

Now restoring with subzero.
This is from the 'Slim' thread. Seems that kernel has the problem when restoring nandroids too. But this person had success with Subzero. I tried that and it didn't work, maybe because I used SZ #34?

Try subZero 1.1 Build 70. I've never had a problem taking or restoring nandroids (full + advanced restores) with my kernels. Build 34 is dated now.

I flip between 5-6 roms, too.

You actually got it to finish booting? The encryption error is a bad bug that's been around lately. If you get a button that says 'Reboot' don't press it!!!! Simply pull out you battery and boot up again. Pressing 'Reboot' will cause a near hard brick. Recovering requires Odin, I think.

Not sure why this ROM is doing this?

Anyway, I have 100% dead stock Vibrant ICS RC4.2 ROM, no kanging, no extras with the exception of nova launcher instead of stock and only the wifi files that are required for wifi calling added. I am uploading it now. I haven't even change modems so you will need to flash one form your region. I recommend KB5 only from what I have read.

If this doesn't work then it might be the case of waiting till T-mob release a SGSII ICS ROM? Other than that there is not much else I can do as a dev unfortunately :(

However if this works, I will be extremely happy and I will re-release my work on the ROM leading up till now in incrimental releases/packages until I find what the bootloops form hell have been caused by?

You guys are not the only one experiencing the bootloops form hell crisis. I have started to build a ROM for my SGSII and far out it seems ever ROM I have downloaded in some way shape or form has bugs that are complete show stoppers. I am really not happy with where things are.....nothing is the full picture for me :( So....I have gone back top source and rebuilding it all my self from ground up. I am not going to release anything in another version, or another ROM.....maybe only when I am competed and happy with my own ROM will I do that. Faaaar too much upkeep. My phone being a dev phone before was shabby. Nothing was nice on it, it was constantly being flashed and being updated with new additions. I am kinda over that part. I will look to get the experia modded to **** when I have the SGSII going fine as a daily :)

Alright thought I could type until upload but not a chance. A good 30min on eta for completed upload. Will post it here and in the OP.

Currently a i9000 kernel till PaulForde finishes the wifi calling kernel for vibrnat so just in case you get funny button actions going on, on your vibrant...then flash this patch. DO NOT flash the "normal" glitch patch it will wipe a lot of important features of this ROM!
    Version 2.1.2.2

    Version 2.1.2.1

    Version 2.1.2

    Version 2.1.1

Instructions - YOU MUST READ THIS!
    Step by step
    • 1. Nandroid backup
    • 2. PLEASE DO THIS TO SAVE SOME TEARS - attempt to do a restore on the backup you've just done. This ensures that you know after you have wiped your phone that when you do a restore you don't get an MD5 error (rear above to fix). NB: CWM for ICS cannot be trusted!
    • 3. After initiating 3 (yes do this before the wipe - yes you are restoring what is already there!) if the CWM allows you to pass the MD5 check and starts actually restoring files it starts, immediately do a battery pull....unless you want to watch the entire restore process LOL - We are doing a full wipe anyway so doesn't matter if it half 1/4 1/8th restores or what ever...this is to check you CAN restore!
    • 4. Reboot back into Recovery and do a factory reset/data wipe
    • 5. Run the kernel cleaning script! This is a MUST especially if you are coming from any other ROM or kernel than mine....that means everyone, cause only my ROM has this kernel
    • 6. Install the ROM
    • 7. After installing go straight back into Recovery and install again - Note: Some remnants of the old recovery you were on will need to be taken care of, this can cause bootloops if you don't.
    • 8. After installing the ROM boot the phone and enter your google account credentials - take a tour if you like :) I recommend you put the phone in airplane mode if you do....in case you get important messages etc....cause they will be lost when you do the restore
    • 9. Boot into recovery; go to backup and restore in the menu. In the sub menu listings is advanced restore, go to advanced restore and select the backup version for todays date and select DATA only. DO NOT RESTORE YOUR PHONE BEFORE DOING 1ST BOOT UP - this can loose your google account details
    • 10. Wipe Dalvik Cache and Cache - Fix permissions
    • 11. This boot will take a fair while - it is not bootlooping its rebuilding the dalvik cache.....and for some reason this first boot takes a fair while longer than most other normal ICS ROMs? Either way it works and has been tested several times now
    • 12. Run LogCat and attempt a wifi call please and report back to this thread with your findings so I can improve it for you and others as well as share my findings/improvements with the rest of developers of XDA

    Release notes from the developer
    ROM features and status
    • I am developing this out of selflessness - I am located in Australia, I don't own a vibrant nor am I on T-mobile network or even have wifi calling available to me. There IS going to be bugs with this ROM please be patient whilst I make adjustments when my dedicated testers get back to me. We all have lives to live and life isn't ONLY about android. Make sure you click thanks on their posts too! They are making this ROM better for you;)
    • This ROM has been extensively modified from it's sources and much of the components will not work with other ROMs.
    • I have tried to remain open with my developments but due to the large disparity amongst ICS builds it has become very difficult to achieve
    • When I get time after the ROM becomes stable if there are specific requests or if I can re-produce specific features for other ICS builds I will.
    • All non-T-mobile wifi calling users wishing to use this ROM should be aware that the wifi scanning rate is considerably higher than most builds to ensure users maintain a solid connection when calling. Due to this you may experience higher than usual battery usage with wifi on please be aware of this.

I tried wifi calling in CM9. I put in the kineto gan module, and some blobs from a jvp wifi calling flashable, and it activated. Sms worked, but call audio failed one way or both ways in some circumstances.

Anyway, maybe you guys can get it working better than me. Hope you'll share if you do :)

I think everyone has been waiting for the kernel before they do. I have some good news too! I have ICS now with kineto GAN. PaulForde has been working tirelessly on this for me. Such a great effort on his behalf. Both of us have been working around the clock. Paul on the kernel my self on the ROM migration.

Paul did a full fresh reinstall on his computer in order to get this kernel to compile as it just was not playing the game. So a massive thanks just for that alone

I have made the migration from 4.03 to 4.04 and what a drama and headache that has become. I have spent the entire last two weeks without a usable phone as such, there has been data error migrations to 4.04, I suggest to everyone that they do a completely fresh install with this release. That means complete wipe,
kernel cleaning script, then fresh install of Ice Cream Sandwich RC 4.2, then this ROM. 4.04 does not like being installed fresh it's self? I had never ending bootloops, attempting to do it that way?

I have instructions that DO work however and has been consistent. I have performed full fresh install 4 times just to confirm.

I am hoping by tonight I will have a full ROM ready for release with complete wifi calling capability:D

Also I advise that no install LookOut mobile security on this or any Ice cream Sandwich ROM. I am very unimpressed with the fact that this single app has made me totally uncontactable for the last few weeks because it blocks all incoming calls no matter what I tried. It took me that long to figure out that was the root of the cause and has held me back for so long on releasing an update to this ROM because I did not want to release something that wasn't working decently.

One last thing that I have noted is that 4.04 does not like anything installed from Recovery into the data partition? It's like it blocks it totally and does not have write access. Advanced restore from recovery works but that is all. No installing apps or data from the recovery console until I work out what the issue is :( I from my understanding I think that Google Has tried to inhibit anyone from rooting a standard 4.04 device? I know that Galnex has a loophole or workaround for being able to root it on the standard kernel via a backdoor entry via the data partition via adb commands (this meant that one could easily root and unroot their device without any significant mods), and I believe that this maybe why apps and installations cannot take part in installation from CWR?

Anyway that is all for now. I am putting this info here for both tech minded ROM users and for the devs of the community. Feel free to comment and/or share any thoughts?

By the way this ROM is built from standard Galaxy Nexus S 4.04 sources, it is not a child branched copy of someone elses base, just know that. It is not going to have all the crazy bells and whistles of AOKP and so forth but it WILL be nice;) I have been working around the clock onthis ROM non-stop now for months, and from the ground up!

    What to expect?

SystemUI with 3D toggle buttons and stock interface with modded power menu along with my custom made pulldown animation (just getting that tidied up now with the 4.04 midgration.

All apps working on 4.04 version with exception of the camera? The camera I have gone back to 4.03 sources as it was force closing. 4.03 worked fine as it was. PlayStore working. I haven't bought anything yet so yet to confirm?

KinetoGAN T-mobile wifi calling enabled. New Kernel with boot image for Vibrant.

All wifi calling adjustments built on to a fresh clean 4.04 base. All wifi calling apps and settings alone with modules as well as everything in the way of settings that has enabled other non-samsung ICS ROMs to work with wifi calling.

All apps (entire ROM) has been fulling optimised and reduced in size by 25MB! Yes base of 4.04 is only 62Mb :)

I will add more here soon. James

all of the links for this are dead

You are the first person to post in here since June. It's 4.0.3, outdated and unsupported, what do you expect?

    Some good and bad news.

1.Kineto GAN won't compile into the vibrant kernel :( Paulforde has been working on it for us behind the scenes (what a champ!) and he has had no luck with a recompile for kineto GAN....which IS needed for the wifi calling app unfortunately (and I know this for certain now after researching)

Now for some good news. Next good news is that I am moving this frankenstien on to 4.04 and have all the sources ready to go :)

My external HD finally arrived so I can empty my over loaded PC and setup ubuntu properly (moving away from the basic cygwin install of linux that I have been using up until now)....which means I can start to dev my own kernels (in time that is).

Next part is also good. I am in the process of sourcing QoS (yes the next generation wifi from T-mobile) modules for kernel building....so if kineto GAN is not going to play, then I will try look into a solution using QoS.

lots on my plate as you can see. But most of you have probably migrated on to more stable build by now. I will keep at it though even if no one bugs me for updates or what ever. Keep yas posted tho ;). Thanks.
