Lost HDMI out audio after flashing via OP instructions.

Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app

EDIT: Currently using Task's new AOKP rom, which was flashed before flashing the kernel. After I found no HDMI out with the kernel, I reflashed Task's ROM (with his included kernel) and HDMI out audio is back.

Clock and voltages....

Is there going to be some experimentation with clock speeds and voltages for the CPU... or put another way... do you think we'll get more than 1.7 out of these cores?

Glad to see some kernel work going on...

Dont know yet, once I get all the govs in, get up to Linux latest then I will be adding UC/OC/UV/OV. With my SGS3, I got 50% OC, 2.1Ghz

@ktoonsez, we're gonna have to work on the power HDL cuz it's tweaked for interactive and does a sysfs_write whenever you interact with the screen... and it spits out a bunch of errors when you change the cpu freq governor...

Can you please also look into overclocking the RAM speed? and timing adjustments to RAM? I would love to see this in a kernel.
I know RAM adjustment is possible in some chipsets, we have it on the Galaxy Nexus. However the way to do it on that is bus speed overclocking, which can become unstable quickly past 15% overclock, and it also affects the l2 cache speed which can cause instability if pushed too high. So I would really like to see memory divider adjustments, but if that isnt possible bus speed OC would suffice as it does a similar enough thing

oh thats weird it was working before i flashed the kernel

Do a double check for me then, since this is early on it is easy to revert before I get too far. I have not changed anything to do with that, it could be the Linux patches though. Hopefully u see this and are available to test later today?

ktoonsez, what govenor and scheduler do you reccomend? I've read the link as to the explanations, but am just interested in your preference
Cheers

Ive been using my governor of course (ktoonservative) and cfq. All seems well for a super battery saver, I will need to do some tweaking on the gov since this device is reacting alot different as far as the performance end goes.

Any chance um could shed a little light on this custom governor of yours? Thanks for the kernel! So far so good.

Hi mate, I've tested it by flashing the stock back and I get sound fine with that through HDMI. I flashed it a couple of times just to be sure. I'm available to test later

Post #3 has all the stuff you would ever want to know about govs/schedulers. The top link is for my governor by a guy that does testing for me :good:

    Change log 1.25.2013
    1. Brand new thermal throttling routine (I played Beach buggy for about 3 hours straight before it started to stutter a little bit when crashing into things, lol)
    2. You can adjust the minimum Mhz to drop to during thermal throttling, default is 1200000 (1200 Mhz), sysfs file is here (I will get this in KTweaker when I get a chance)
    "/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/cput_attributes/min_throttle_mhz"
So, to layout the logic, the throttling will only got down to 1200 Mhz (if necessary) until you reach your set "start_throttle" temp +15, then it allows throttling down to 800 Mhz, if "Tripping" occurs it allows throttling down to 500 Mhz.

    Change log 1.24.2013

    2. Ktoonservative renamed "boostpulse_value" to "boost_cpu"

    4. Ktoonservative added "boost_gpu": Set to 0 to NOT boost GPU during touch boost or use, 100 or 266 or 350 or 400 or 450 or 533 or 612 to boost the GPU to that Mhz.
    5. Ktoonservative added "boost_hold_cycles": Set to a value to hold the boost for, as usual 22 = approx 1 second.
    6. Ktoonservative added "disable_hotpluging": Set to a 0 to leave hotplugging enabled, set to 1 to NEVER hotplug which will leave the 2nd core on full time.
