[Q] Real androi version

Search This thread
Hi everybody. I we instal a custom rom. Is any possibility to know the real android version?

You have several options.
1) Go to Settings====>About phone====> Tap android version several times. (If you are fast enough 3 times is enough. If you can't keep clicking.) (Doesnt work for some phones like hTC One V)
New screen of Platlogo comes.
If it shows Android with zombies then android is Gingerbread.
If it shows Android Cat, then it is ICS.
If it shows Bean, then JB
If is shows Kitkat, then KK.
But this can be changed.

2) View builds.prop
Min.sdk.version
10 is GB 11 is ICS I dont know others

Check other properties if you can get a clue.

3) Get apk of an app not compatible with your stock ROM.
Example Assume you have GB.
Take apk of BBM/themer. They are for ICS+. Try to install them. If they are installed you have above version. If they don't install then you have GB
