Copy attached file it_IT.properties.txt and rename by removing ".txt" extension as it_IT.properties to folder /i18n/ and it should work - may need small corrections:)

To skin or not to skin ... that is the question

You really translate Skin to Pelle? Funny :D
As I said it "may need small corrections". Wikipedia has
"In informatica, una skin (dall' inglese, 'pelle') è un file" so although the Italian word "pelle" does mean skin, it may be that the English word "skin" is more appropriate in this context. Now I have completed the translation in a working format, I leave it to silviaccio1 to advise.

version 1.10.12.18

tinyGReaderInstaller.1. 10.12.18 .cab
MC Thanks for this update. It is much more stable but unfortunately there are a few minor things.

1 Simple Blue.zip theme file was in wrong folder - need to move to themes
2 Could not see Subscriptions
3 Mark all as read seems to cause error on exit (see attachment)
4 Refresh was inconsistent

Good news is transitions are smoother, internal browser pages work well and allow one to see all the feed.

Appreciate your work on this.

Cheers
Tom

I was just coming to give my feedback too.. the transition between articles is smoother and they look nicer (I think you increased the spacing more, or smoothed the font?).. but the longest articles still get truncated! Is there any way you could repeat the articles title at the bottom of long posts, so I don't have to scroll back to the top to click through and read the rest? :)

Re tiled reading list.. I think it looks nice but I've turned off the images - they look great but it made my device really unresponsive while it was downloading them, which took a minute or 2 to clear up.. but I know i have an old device so hopefully it works better for ppl with HD2 etc..

Cheers, Mark

Re: Double tap to change font size in the html renderer

double tap the screen in the html renderer to switch between a 1.0 and 1.2 font-size factor.
MC this font-size factor is still not working again in version 1.10.12.18. Please see attached screen shots from your pointCODE feed for tiny Google Reader (your are being modest as this does not show an author). Note I am using updated "Simples" skin with a light blue for hyperlinks.
1. Shows pointCODE Subscriptions feeds [pointCODE.jpg] although the 4 row selection menu takes up a lot of screen real estate - can we go back to two rows please?)
2. Shows tiny Google Reader RSS feed summary in "normal" font [FeedNormal.jpg] although you might note how tight the text is to the left hand side - a small margin would be nice.
3. Shows tiny Google Reader RSS feed summary in "large" font [FeedLarge.jpg] but all that happens is the title is larger and the line / character spacing is wider. I cannot see 1.2 font-size factor on the body text.
4. Shows internal HTML renderer displaying your web site page in "normal" font [ArticleNormal.jpg] although you might note how tight the text is to the left hand side - a small margin would be nice.
5. Shows internal HTML renderer displaying your web site page in "large" font [ArticleLarge.jpg] although all that is happening is the line and character spacing is increased so we no longer see the last line: "tiny Google reader ist the perfect".

What would be perfect is to have back the 1.2 font-size factor in both the RSS feed summary [FeedLarge.jpg] and the internal browser [ArticleLarge.jpg].

the longest articles still get truncated! Is there any way you could repeat the articles title at the bottom of long posts, so I don't have to scroll back to the top to click through and read the rest?

I have to agree with MarkPud on this. Please could you repeat the article title as a hyperlink at the bottom of all posts? And another vote to put the padlock icon to mark the item as unread next to star on the first row as well.

Cheers
Tom

Actually the translation was funny and unusual, but is literally correct.
However I think it would be preferable to translate it to 'Tema' (that is the literal translation of 'theme'). Otherwise 'Skin' can be leaved.

is it possible to make a skin, where you cann add background images to the ListItems of the Listview? I would like to have some more color, like other apps and there ListView element.

Is it possible to make the wordbreak bevor the arrow icon in the ListView of subject of the article?

it wqould be great, when there was a description about all the possibilits with the skin/theme...

Wow, I just wanted to say THIS THING IS FREAKING AWESOME!

I used pRSS Reader and was quite happy about that one but it did not sync with my google reader account (I have no idea why...). Your application solved that problem and looks amazing as well :S

I use google reader mostly for comics; and this app seems to reduce the size of some images, making them unreadable. Could there be an option to load full images? or zoom in on them?

Other than that, my only other problem is the keyboard SIP icon shows up; it goes away when the keyboard is toggled.

Beautiful app!

    New version 10.12.14

    Hi,

    It's there. I uploaded the new version 10.12.14 to the main thread. Due to a lot of rewritten code, there might be some new bugs - I hope not to much ;)

    On my device, the performance improved again, esp. in the list view control. Also the memory footprint went down to even 2-3MB (most of the time)

    My next goal is to write a service which runs in the background and throws notifications when new items arrive... have to think about that...

    @Szczepanik: Yes, it will run on HD2 - it's done for HD2 and tested on HD2 and I love my HD2, too. (never wrote HD2 so many times in one sentence)

    cheerz,
    MC

    Hi,

    MC

    Please, make it as selectable option.

    Thanks.

    EDIT:
    Downloaded and testig the 1.10.12.14 version.

    I've to say that i liked more the previous black skin with little green text, I hope it will be possible to have it back :)

    Very good the internal browser, no bugs till now. This for me is the main added value of that application. good work!

    Bugs till now:
    1.Very nice the lateral sliding, but a little buggy:
    a.some time too much slow
    b.some time the screen is not updated and there is a sort of trail effect.
    c.Other ones there is a lag before the updating of the screen.
    d.Sometime the screen finished to slide before than the new screen is drawn
    e.Sometime the last few pixel of the sliding screen shift away veeeeery slowly
    2. When tile view is selected and you go from reading list to home screen, before the home screen is drawn the list view appears for an instant (It is not a bug for me because I don't like tile view)
    (I've a i8000 with more than 40 MB free when tinyg is running).

    Sugestions:
    1. green font as before for little text , the grey text should be leaved only when no unread elements are present
    2. when 'subscriptions' is chosen as first page the subscription button should be put in place of reading list button in the button bar (and viceversa)
    3. hierarchical organization of subscription should be used in place of alphabetical one (as example I have three subscription for the same site, they should be grouped. I've seen an application that do it)
    4. Please add Italian to the language list (see attachement)

    Testing in progress.

    Themes properties

    You can customize the themes yourself. Just look into the /themes/ folder and open the desired zip file. You'll find a .properties file and a mipmap.png. Just change them as you like. If you made something cool, share it ;)

    I created attached theme called "Simples" (for those who do not live in the UK you might understand the name if you visit the site of Simples) which is based on the old Simple Black with Green text but includes new rows for tileBackgroundColor & htmlLinkColor.
    'NEW "Simples" theme.properties 2010.12.13
    Code:
    backgroundColor=0,0,0
    foregroundColor=255,255,255
    intermediateColor=44,44,44
    infoColor=139,193,71
    separatorColor=90,90,90
    tileBackgroundColor=49,162,222
    htmlLinkColor=220,220,255
    Just copy the attached Simples.zip into your /themes/ folder and select it from the Settings: Themes. It is not "cool" but like silviaccio1, I prefer it.
    Looking forward to the new version - hopefully with large body text font option please :->
    Cheers
