No its not true at all. Being a rooted user has nothing to do with paid apps for free. Had you read the forum rules you would see that's called warez which is NOT permitted on xda

yeah i was just asking because i was told different and wanted to make sure. I am starting to listen to XDA and not friends now! Thanks for the reminder.

Also, is there an EVO LTE root available? I am due for an upgrade but i love the slide out keyboards. I never had a phone without one.

Is there a new HTC phone coming out with a slide out keyboard anytime soon? Does anyone know?

Sooner or later a new HTC Slider has to hit the Market. Just when, and what Specs it's going to have are the main concerns :( .

Observation / Question

Thanks for answering my question last time that I had one. I really appreciate it. I have an observation / question that hopefully someone may figure out and help me out with. On the NewSense RC2 ROM, I find that some text messages from a Verizon subscriber either arrive very late after they are sent, or arrive together when the other party sends another SMS. Some SMS messages also do not arrive at all.

I have the S-ON unlocked bootloader, and I flashed the boot.img, performed a data wipe, cleared both cache files, and loaded the ROM, and everything else seems to work perfectly.

My question about this issue is if you guys think it may be my end? Is there a specific radio associated with this ROM that I need/should flash also that may fix this issue (if that is possibly at all to blame)? Is there something I can do that may address the issue? Flashing back to my stock ROM fixes it and all the SMS messages arrive perfectly now.

Thanks to anyone in advance for their input.

I agree. The slide out keyboard is so clutch for me.

Then again i heard there is a quad core phone coming out for Sprint. Is it out yet? or is it coming out soon?

Anyone know?

well i tried to PM Dread 7 us with no luck so I'll ask here. Is there an option in the control panel to change the home button behavior while at the home screen? I want it to still take me to my main screen when I'm not on it but not show me the screen previews when I am on my home screen and hit the home button. Thanks!

About the kernel... It is based off of htc's 2.6.35.10 kernel source. The clock tables, voltages and added governors are a combination of the 5 kernel developers I mention below. I also added v(r) i/o scheduler, thanks mdeejay from Team Virtuous.

This has been a long time coming. First I have to thank my wife and kids for being so patient while I stared at a computer screen. Endless thanks to one_love_420 and Dread 7us for all their hard work, knowledge, and patience. Huge thanks goes to Dodgejcr, for taking the time to teach me almost everything I know about kernels, answering my noobish questions :), and writing up some awesome tutorials located at his website http://dodgejcr.com. Tommy Tomatoe has been such a great help to all of us, we can't thank you enough. I have some more thanks to give to a few other people, in no particular order toastcfh, scaryghoul, mdeejay, dodgejcr, x99 (kernel sources to compare, and help trouble shooting), aamikam (a2sd trouble shooting), strapped365 (panorama camera), and htc (base kernel source). Last but not least, the whole Shift community, a.k.a. the best community on xda. I hope you enjoy this ROM as much as we did making it. If I forgot to thank anyone, please let me know and I'll add you. :)

Edit: Here is a link to custom skins for those that are interested... http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1048894

Edit: link to kernel with tun.ko and cifs.ko. Tested working by hamagc. thanks! :) here
