hi guys,
i flashed my i9003 with
-xxkpe
then
-
xxkpq
then
-cf-root xxkpq
- miui

the rom is very fast, but i have some problems:
- battery life
- video recording with default icons don't work (I install some app from market but the videorecording is too slow and with lag)

there is another rom without bug or issue for this devide?

thanx

ps: this rom is very fast and stable but with some bugs...

for battery life you need to configure your cpu, connection settings.
read the posts which include information about that.

video recording is not working and it is a known issue. not fixed yet.

there is no such roms like cm7, cm9 or miui without bug or issues but if you want full stable rom u need to use stock roms...

is different to uc v9??

there was a changelog about some changes ganesh did. so its a bit different.

if you have seen my recent post about good battery life configuration

with it, my battery goes at least 1 day and a half.

and i want to notice,

before that, i used vurrut v4, @1.2 ghz, smartassv2 and 3G on, it drained battery wildly. so i tried different settings and now its good.

For me in case battery drain optimize:

The best is V10 by JP and V10.1 by TheFrankenstain
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1538234
(V10.2 battery is drain quickly)

Turn off display animation
Select Only 2G
SET CPU@300-1000 min/max
Governnor is conservative/ I/O is cfq (default by no-frills CPU)
Turn off WI-FI when not used (If always turn on battery is drain quickly)

My battery life is 1 day and half.

thx you.;)

@tarunagg
but mac address is unique for each device!
in my case i've different wifi macaddress depending if stock/cooked or cm/miui rom.
in first case wifi work while in cm/miui wifi locks in " obtain ip address" and not work.
Thanks. I had the same problem. I entered the 'new' address in router and it worked!

Very strange trhat HW address should change!

cwm should not disappear when flashing. are you using the three-way reboot in the rom, or trying the buttons while the phone is off? if neither way will let you in, then flash again from stock and be more careful. observe for any errors, etc. and if there are none you should be fine.

    @gm007

I have been monitoring your progress since few days. I would like to give you some advice.

MIUI is based on AOSP and it is very much similar to CM7. Infact many of the MIUI ROM are based on CM7 and they share the same kernel for obvious reasons.

Follow these guidelines for better ROM:

    1. Libraries
Never use libraries from the Stock rom except for Proprietary stuff. Samsung is best at screwing up things and they might add some custom functionality which might break things on AOSP roms. So it is always better to avoid using libraries from the Stock roms.
On the other hand, you could use Proprietary libraries from latest stock rom releases. The list of all such libraries could be found HERE. It would be best if you keep updating these files in the rom whenever any new stock rom is released.
Also avoid using libraries from other phones since they won't be alike and they might contain customizations specific to that phone. I have noticed a lot of libraries which are not at all useful for example, you have included OMX Core from aries platform which obviously doesn't work.

    2. Debugging with Logs

If you are having any issue that you need to fix and if you have the relavent logcat message, you could check the name of the module that gives the error. You could use the command 'grep -r "<string>" .' to search for that string so that you will get an idea about which library is responsible for that error message.

    3. Check for Dependencies

Libraries don't magically load themselves. You need to load them manually which are often linked to other libraries. To load or use a specific library you need to find for additional dependencies so that they are all loaded. You could do a dependancy search by using "strings" command. For example to find the dependencies of libaudio.so you need to run `strings libaudio.so | grep ".so"`. This will show all the interlinked modules.

    4. Functional CM7 is a key to MIUI

Since CM7 is opensource and MIUI is based on CM7, if you manage to fix issues on CM7, you could fix the issue on MIUI very easily. The best idea would be to sync the CM7 tree and fix issues that you are having. For example to fix the video recording, download the code, fix the issue and then check for libraries that have been updated or change. You could copy over those libraries to MIUI to fix the issue. Juggling with the libraries will do nothing other than bringing in more and more problems.

I could have helped you with CM7, but rite now I don't have a device and I don't want to bother my friend who has bought the device recently only. And as far as the developers are concerned, everyone is too busy with their life.

Good luck with your port. I appreciate your hardwork. Do let me know if you need any technical help.

    :)
