What if you try cwm? I've never used twrp, so i do not know, but would assume there are backup options somewhere? Alternately, have you looked into the latest changelog? Maybe it's been made to not backup that data, as it could caue some bugs?...

There has been reports that backup/restore doesn't work with the newest TWRP (2.4.2.0).

You might want to dig up and find an older build and see if that will work.

EDIT: Here's a bunch of TWRP .img files.
