Speak for yourself..

Not all of us. A lot of us are getting great battery life. Are you running the latest radio update or older one?

latest. 3.7 battery. My battery can last 20 hours with hour ans half screen on time. That's not good battery life. My screen on time has been cut by about 2 hours from when I was on GB but its no biggie since I'm near a charger all day and charger in the car as well.

That sounds exactly like my first computer. I think I was about 13 or so. I forget. BUt yeah, my first PC was a 286, 5.25" floppy. I remember when the 3.5" floppy was new!

Lol. I graduated high school in 1991. As a graduation gift, my parents got me a new PC - all the pieces. So I had to teach myself how to build a PC from the parts. Probably one of the best gifts EVER!

It was a 80286-16, 5.25" & 3.5" floppy drives. It had a CGA graphics card as the VGA cards were ungodly expensive at that time - I commonly called the CGA graphics "Crayola Graphics Adapter" as it is only 4 base colors if I remember right. The big part was the 40 meg hard drive that they got me. :) They also got me DR-DOS 5.0.

So once I got it built, then I had to get a crash course on how to configure it via the autoexec.bat and config.sys files to get rid of IRQ conflicts. FML!! :)

I remember later on playing Leisuresuit Larry, Kings Quest, Space Quest, then after a couple of years and some hardware upgrades EPIC Pinball, then Doom (mind was blown) then Doom II - all the Quake's, etc. Man I miss some of those games. Quake II especially.

Is anyone else using Exchange E-mail?

I have a potentially weird problem, I've been playing with my settings all morning and I cannot see the e-mail text when I open an e-mail. In the folder, I see the header and preview text, but when I open the e-mail, just the recipients and header show up, the rest is blank white text. It doesn't happen on all e-mails (which is likely why I hadn't noticed it before) but one I got yesterday does it, and one I got today does it.

Anyone know what may be going on there?

As quantum said, it just disppeared!

....damnit.

How about if you try to install a non-market app, get the prompt that it needs that setting turned on, press on the settings from that message to have it take you there. That is what I have done and it shows up every time. Not sure if it is because after flashing it is real soon after getting setup that I have to do that for one of my apps??

When I press the settings button in the popup, it takes me to this screen.

I will probably just reflash overtop.

Actually.... I tried and it screws u a lot of other things. I highly discourage you from dropping out of set up because your phone will not be set up properly... But if you have no other choice....

Keep hitting back on the first set up screen.

Wait, what kind of issues from skipping the setup screen? Obviously, my phone set itself up with Verizon when I first got it, but whenever I flash this ROM I just hit back or home a few times to skip what I thought was the HTC setup... Are there potential problems with this? Because 1) it will default to English, I think it's redundant doing so in setup. 2) I can add my Google Accounts myself 3) Don't want to bother with VZW backup because I freeze it anyway...

I used to skip the setup screen too. But 3 or 4 times after flashing a rom and skipping it, I would have random data drops. The 3G icon would just poof (no 4g here) and required a restart. I can't prove it was related to skipping setup, but that "seemed" to be the reason since it's never done that when I go through setup properly.

When you initially boot up after flashing the Rom, you'll notice that it goes through some routine where it says that it is "Activating device" or something along those lines. I wonder if you are skipping that part of it and that is breaking the service part of the setup?

I just opened the Setup icon and aside from not seeing that I've already added a Google account (it saw that I already had a FB account), it didn't really do anything. So I'm not sure what issue this is then. I wouldn't know if I have data drops because I have Juice Defender Plus set to keep my data off, but turn it on for 2 minutes every 30 minutes, or when I unlock my phone. So my data is usually off anyway.

I'm guessing maybe the original asker skipped letting up the home screen do it's initial loading.

Scott, I am pretty sure that Nils fixed the unknown sources issue. When I flashed his recent update, I didn't have to set the check mark or anything, it just installed the apk. Might want to check with him.

    Alternate Kernels

I have created a flashable 3.13.607.5 Kernel and a flashable 3.14.605.5 Kernel for the ROM.

Some people feel that the 3.13.607.5 kernel gave better battery and cooling than the latest kernel.

Feel free to download and test for yourself!

These are in old school method as to make one simple step for everyone. This also resets mainver to 1.00.000.0 :D

    Instructions
    1. Download to root of SD Card
    2. Reboot to Recovery
    3. Flash Zip
    4. Phone will reboot to hboot
    5. Press power one time so it will scan the SD Card
    6. Install boot.img when prompted
    7. Reboot when prompted

    Download the 3.13.605.7 kernel HERE

    Download the 3.14.605.5 kernel HERE

Np. Not trying to bite your head off or anything, but wipe is always almost recommended.

You get to go off on someone and get a thanks for that.

I post a killer ROM and then a mirror by request and I get **** :(

700+ downloads in 7 hours and I have 12 thanks. Im not complaining... But really?
