[Q] Turning on Wifi slows down ISP speed
I originally posted this question on note 3 forum, but I was experiencing this same issue when I owned sprint note 2 up to just a week ago.
Please bear with the slightly long explanation, and I appreciate any assistance!
At my office LAN, we have a little network of under 10 PCs running off cable & with dedicated IP.
Our office phones are also VOIP system so at any sign of issues with internet connection, office phones get serious lag.
Recently I noticed our network internet would slow down to a point where simple web browsing was difficult.
ISP's down speed is 7.6MB , which is basic business line package but more than enough for office use.
I've been doing some troubleshooting and testing, and I've found the culprit where it's to a point of absolute certainty.
When I turn off Wifi on my note 3, internet connection, and VOIP phones are running perfectly.
When I turn wifi back on note 3, internet gets slower, and dial tone on phones have 3-4 second lag due to internet speed.
I know for sure that my note 3 is causing this because I tested wifi on/off many times.
What's weird is, other employees also running other variations of smartphones are all connected on wifi during work hours. Only mine seems to be the variable where turning on/off makes a night and day difference.
How can I troubleshoot to see what it is exactly that my Note 3 is doing that's causing this trouble by itself?
Any suggestions on worthwhile apps or methods to isolate why note is hogging so many bandwidth?
Thanks for any assistance!!
