Hi!

Sorry if this may have been answered before but...

I upgraded my software OTA from .257 to .290 and after various resets/repairs and reloading the.290 upgrade (via PC companion), I still had Bluetooth problems with my car audio and the hands-free system, which I rectified by using flashtool and "downgrading" my software back to .257 using this ftf -

C6903 14.1.G.2.257 Vodafone UK 1276-0815_R9A

Now that the .136 version is available, my phone still prompts for an "upgrade" to .290 and also informs me of this upgrade on the Sony PC companion.

Do I need to upgrade to .290 then to .136 OR

Can I use one of these ftf files to flash my phone using Flashtool -

C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic RU 1276-7743
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic DE 1277-0154_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic IT 1276-0557_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic AU 1277-0078_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic FR 1276-5833
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic BAL

If so, which would be the best ftf to use and would I lose any Vodafone settings etc on my phone?

Any help will be appreciated!

Regards,

Alan

This way you have to do it via PC Companion because it will not let you jump to .136

Yes

C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic RU 1276-7743
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic DE 1277-0154_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic IT 1276-0557_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic AU 1277-0078_R2B
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic FR 1276-5833
C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic BAL

All the FTF are Unbranded with the specific main language and they are without Vodafone bloatware and you will lose even the Vodafone boot screen. If you do not use any language from the list then I will consider the to flash C6903 14.2.A.1.136 Generic BAL via flashtool. To keep data on your phone just uncheck Wipe Data in Flashtool and you are done.

Hi eclyptos,

Thank you for the reply! I'm from the UK so if I flash the generic BAL version, will I still get the English language on my phone? Not bothered about losing any Vodafone stuff, apart from network settings etc..

Alan

Yes, you will have English language. In the case of network settings you just will have to call Vodafone to send you the sms again with the right carrier settings or do it manually.

Hi eclyptos,

Thank you for the reply.. I will probably have a go at flashing the .136 ftf later in the week and see if the bluetooth works with my car audio.. Hopefully will.. if not, I will flash back to the trusty .257...

Just tried the .136 BAL ftf and the Bluetooth doesn't work! Did not try a factory rest just kept the data when using Flashtool.. so its definitely the 4.3 version of Android that has screwed up the Bluetooth.. Great! Back to .257.. for another 23 months....Thanks Google/Sony NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
