In both cases, my phone fails to register on the network and I can't select a network manually, so I'm kinda screwed. I was thinking maybe trying to flash a different modem might work, but when I try to do so with Odin, it fails.I can provide that log if anyone wants to take a look at it. Currently, my modem is the stock T-mobile. The exact error I get on my phone is : "Qualcomm Secure BootEnable: (CSB) / write Protection: Enable /Secure check Fail: modem" This may be a dumb question, but does this mean I have some sort of lock on my bootloader? If so, does anyone have a solution?
I read that if I flash the modem with Mobile Odin, it will work. So I purchased the Mobile Odin Pro only to find out that it doesn't recognize my phone, and after ten minutes or so of trying to run it, I can no longer get a refund. So if anyone has encountered this problem before and can provide some advice, I sure would appreciate it because this is driving me crazy. I know it's not a hardware issue because I have no problem registering on Panama networks, and I've purchased and ran Region Unlock several times.
Thanks guys. I've done a bunch of reading and continue to come up blank.
FWIW, if anyone encounters the same problem, I figured out through much research and flashing of different ROMS, including Stock, that a T-mobile (or T-mobile based) SIM card would not work. I have no idea why. But when I switched the SIM that comes in the StraightTalk "SIM Activation Kit" from the T-mobile to the AT&T, I received service as quickly as I could boot my phone.
Being that my phone is a T-mobile branded phone, I am at a loss as to why it would not work, but it didn't.
Hope this info helps someone else!
