hi..

i have a serious problem!

when I want to install zip (CM6) in CWM recovery that I installed with X8.m.Toolbox I face this:

Amend scripting is no longer supported!
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to clockworkmod3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting to create working update zip packages!

baseBand version is e15

what is the problem?!

tanQ...

Which version of CM6 do you want to install.
Current MiniCM-x8 1.0.2 already using Edify Script.so it will work.

try to extract the zip
check META-INF/com/google/android/

if there is update-script = amend script (XRecovery)

if there is updater-script + update-binary = edify script (CWM Recovery)

Restore from CWM Problem

I am using stock rom with CWM Recovery 3.2.0.0-r4 with multiboot option
and going to migrate to GingerDX v006 with CWM Recovery 3.2.0.0-r3

i have made backup for stock rom that include :
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 216456768 2011-08-04 12:06 system.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 106096320 2011-08-04 12:08 data.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 2112 2011-08-04 12:08 .android_secure.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 14784 2011-08-04 12:08 cache.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 176077440 2011-08-04 12:09 sd-ext.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 177 2011-08-04 12:10 nandroid.md5

and GingerDX v006 rom that include :
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 203554560 2011-08-04 14:50 system.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 89101056 2011-08-04 14:51 data.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 151890816 2011-08-04 14:52 .android_secure.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 19008 2011-08-04 14:52 cache.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 37008576 2011-08-04 14:53 sd-ext.img
----rwxr-x system sdcard_rw 177 2011-08-04 14:53 nandroid.md5

when i'm going to restore any of those backup sd-ext.img and .android_secure.img was not restored.it's just skip .android_secure.img and sd-ext.img
then i use advanced restore and select to restore sd-ext.it's working, but my sd-ext partition changed to ext4 filesystem instead ext2.

Have any one enconter this problem?

have you done factory reset (full wipe) in xrecovery???
if no, pull out the battery, put it back, enter xrecovery and do it :)

Guys I want to ask how to create custom update.zip for clockwork mod? It was very easy for xRecovery, but for CWM I found nothing.

I want to copy two files to system/app through the CWM.

The Clockworkmod recovery is working on our X8 now
    * I am not responsible for any brick or damage to your phone, so be cautious!
The package script for CWM recovery is different from xRecovery, don't try to flash xRecovery script with CWM recovery, errors might occur
If you want to create update.zip for CWM recovery, please go to here.
Use the attached update-binary which is modified and tested to work correctly with this recovery.

    ClockworkMod Recovery for custom ROM

If you want to make it work on custom ROM, you need to modify chargemon.
Here it is for Floyo, FroyoBread and Hackdroid, it should work on other ROMs too, if chargemon is same as in FroyoBread, Floyo and Hackdroid. I tested it on Hackdroid 0.98 and it is working. Just install it in Xrecovery.

Omg,this is stupid...its the same thing as xrecovery...

Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk

ClockworkMod recovery has a purpose of existence.

CM7 is build on Gingerbread sources so it is vital to use a common source based recovery.
Also edify scripting and the advanced syntax check that CWM performs, is by itself, a proof of superiority against xrecovery.

The correct order is think-search-discuss and NOT vice-versa.

Do not use Fix permissions! I've accidentally run it and phone became useless... home button not working, power menu has got only power off option, force closes... so I had to format /data and restore everything... Do not use Fix permissions!
