Same thing happened this morning, cold boot, "HTC One" screen then black screen. Factory reset and immediately rebooted - same thing again! is this a hardware issue or a corrupt software issue?

Will go and join the incredibly long and slow moving at the HTC service centre after work.

I've spoken with HTC customer services and they recommend taking the phone in to get it flashed - basically they think that there is a problem with the software. They claim it is a quick job.

They offered to come out to my office and collect my phone and return it tomorrow - I'm impressed with that level of service... pending they can fix it with a simple flash of the firmware!
im sorry to hear that
i really hope its a software issue and not the SOD X_X
i forgot to mention that can change the volume but it crashes after that, i cant increase or decrease.

im wondering if its a hardware issue why would it work after a factory reset?
please keep us updated, if its a software issue ill flash the RUU, if not i guess ill take it to our crap htc service.

Ive read about some motherboard problems interfering with the display and wondered if the phone had actually booted but this wasn't relayed to the display itself.

It appears however, in my case, to have been a firmware issue. HTC flashed it last night and now it can be restarted with no problems.
