no problem if delete any of them

Some of the files are incremental no? Or is it only with CWM6? I have to say that I don't backup with CWM but I would recommend to erase everything and re-execute a full backup so this way you are sure to have a functional backup...

Edit. I just realized in which thread we are now..... If you have a Blobs folder then it's incremental.. You can't keep only the most recent one that will be an invalid backup

you can delete any backup made with CWM-based Recovery v6, keeping the last one; there are all images created as backup at different times, there's no relation between them.

I have a problem on my CM10 stable version. The name of caller doesnt show up immediately and I can see only his number?! could you help me how to solve this issue? Or is it better to flash the latest nightly to solve it? But I want the most stable system I can get, so I prefer stable version

Nothing can be done, the problem is that's our phone's so slow that it can't process the number in time with the latest Android. (The other solution would be to delay displaying the call screen until the name is processed, but that would be undesirable.)

Thanks!!

@pawitp, your ROM uploaded on Aug, 5th is simply the BEST EVER for my purposes!

Thank you so much for your work, I've donated you yesterday.
I have no need of buying S2 S3 or S4 Galaxys when my i9000 can work like this, cool

After just some minor modifying under settings "performance" I have excellent battery consumption as well, no drain.
Thanks, man- keep going!

@pawitp I think he meant something else......
@milanf It comes from the multiply synced contacts from your Google account(s) etc.....

  • Go to App "People" --> Settings --> Contacts to display --> choose "customise", probably you have multiple entries of the contacts there.
  • Check there your single contacts now and split each if you have multiple google accounts entries, erase thos you don't want to see, keep & update prefered ones
  • Go to App "Messaging" and check if it displays the prefered, edited contacts. If not, make the next step:
  • Click the icon of your unproperly displayed contact (number) where photo should appear, the contact will open then. It will probably be one of the multiple entries, so just erase it. After that (maybe even two erasing), the proper contact will appear.

Just let me know if you solved it.
 Cheers

I don't know if anybody else has this problem but I cannot for the life of me make gmail sync my mails.

THis has only happends since i upgraded to cm10.2. It used to work just fine
I even deleted the gmail apk that is istalled by defauld and installed the one from the market and it is the same.

WHt can be the problem, is there a bug in the latest cm or is it somehow my fault?

If you are talking about CM11, you are in wrong thread here.

Report in CM11 thread and add full bug report.

Reporting Bugs

You are allowed to report bugs only at the SGSCM10 bug tracker. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.

REPORT BUGS IN THIS THREAD ONLY

  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow.

Code:
What is your--
Phone model:
Radio (baseband):
CM version:
CM Download url:
Gapps version:

Did you--
wipe:
 restore with titanium backup:
reboot after having the issue:

Are you using--

About 4.2, I don't really see any feature which will make you want to upgrade right away (from a user point of view).

From a device point of view, there shouldn't be much difficulties for us as most parts are already open source. The main difficulty would be that SurfaceFlinger currently rejects old hwcomposer, but CM should take care of that soon. They've also changed the bluetooth subsystem around, but we shouldn't have any problem with that. The most time consuming part would be to merge the current CM codebase with AOSP, since they are bound to be many conflicts.

The I9000 will get 4.2, but no ETA!

sooner or later i believe CM10 can get snappy UI without datadata.

Here's what I'm going to do: Swap /system and /data, and also decrease the size of /cache so you get ~400MB for /data itself. Every dalvik cache will be moved onto /system (as if /system is ever formatted, the dalvik cache can be easily regenerated and no data is lost), saving more space for /data.

This will however, require a full wipe on all devices and when that time comes, there'll be a warning on the download link.

I was skeptical about the new partition layout. I tested and I'm convinced that this is a very good solution.

Pawitp is trying for free to keep alive an almost dead device.

If someone doesn't like the solution that pawitp implemented then he can think something different, get the code implement something new and release it for all of us.
Alternatively, he may flash stock android 2.3 or complain to Samsung about no implementation of ICS and JB to SGS.

Edit: a big THANK YOU to pawitp. Bravo!
